I recently saw some posts going around about mental health and skiing. Because of this, I wanted to share the ski segment from my award-winning documentary film that has been in 10 film festivals. For those of you that do not know, I have been filming skiing for many years. I was diagnosed as autistic at age 23 after struggling with severe depression, anxiety, and alcoholism for quite some time. I am going on 12 years sober, and I am very grateful for the decision I made for myself to get sober. I made it through some tough times with my severe depression and now live a fulfilling life with my girlfriend and a successful film career. I want to let you know that there is no need to feel ashamed of struggling with mental health, and whenever possible, please be open with others so that you do not internalize your struggles. The more we hide it, the harder it gets. If you need someone to talk to, please feel free to reach out. I am here for people that could use the support.

This segment shows me surrounded by my passion for filmmaking. I had people follow me around filming behind-the-scenes footage to capture me filming while combining the footage with my camera angles to the music. There were interviews with Lupe Hagearty, Parker Norvell, Cassidy "Queso" Dubois, and Jaron Stadler speaking about how filming skiing helps alleviate some of my autistic traits as well as my severe depression. During this segment, it also features the skiing of Taylor Seaton, John Spriggs, Keegan Kilbride, Trent Jones, Seamus Flanagan, and the people in the interviews. If it weren't for finding my passion in filmmaking I don't think I would be where I am today. A big thank you goes out to Woodward Copper, Shred Optics, and Tall T Productions for sponsoring my documentary.

I wanted to update you on how my new documentary Thriving on the Spectrum is doing during its first two months in its film festival life. Ten film festivals have noticed it, and it has won three awards so far. I won Best Short Documentary Film in two festivals, and I won the Award of Merit in another. It feels amazing to stand out amongst so many different film festivals around the world in just the first few months of finishing my new film. I look forward to seeing where else Thriving on the Spectrum may go, and I plan to host another virtual screening and Q/A sometime after the New Year in January and hope to see you there. I also want to thank everyone for all the love and support to help me get to this point in my life. Despite life being challenging for a variety of reasons over the last year, it has been amazing for my film career. I released four films in 2020 and 2021 and won 7 awards. And now I get to move to Florida in less than two weeks with the love of my life, Erin, where I will be able to start a new journey with her. I will also continue my passion and career for filmmaking with more exciting opportunities out there. Life is good, and I cant wait to see where life brings me next.

"Neurodiverse: One Couple's Experience" is a film about a real-life couple, Erin (neurotypical) and Scott (autistic), who demonstrate how acceptance, respect, love, and a sense of humor are the key to thriving in everyday life together.

This film was originally made for the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge where we had less than a week to come up with a mockumentary story and then film and edit it all while staying at home during the pandemic. I was very excited to hear that my work stood out to many judges. It feels good to know that my work is being recognized because my film won an award at the Spring Grove Caledonia Film Festival.

I hope you enjoy my short film.

In 2020 small businesses were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic like so many people out there. During the shutdown, small businesses were told they couldn’t have any in-person sales, while stores like Target were deemed essential when they had large amounts of foot traffic that weren’t always monitored. This was a slap in the face to many small business owners trying to stay in business in any way possible.

I’ve seen how much small businesses have been struggling, and I wanted to help support them however I could best. As a filmmaker, I saw the potential of interviewing a variety of small businesses during the pandemic to give the people a chance to share their story and how more than ever they need our support.

In this first episode, I met up with Scott Happel, who is one of the co-owners of The Oriental Theater. The Oriental Theater has not only been shutdown when everyone else was, but they have been shut down for most of the year because of COVID restrictions.

Please watch this video and help support businesses like the Oriental Theater and the artists that perform whenever possible.

Our Story

I am a filmmaker, a photographer, and I am also autistic. As an autistic person I have learned how to hone my strengths and abilities to create a meaningful life and career.

I am about to release a project called "Autism: One Man's Journey." It talks about late diagnosis with autism in which I filmed, edited, and produced this inspiring autobiographical film with the hope to reassure late diagnosis autistics that they are not alone. It is hard being autistic, but I want to inspire others and let them know that things do get better.

I got my name out into the ski industry as a filmer early on and that grew when I was 23. During that time I did a few projects for ESPN, Smith Goggles, Line Skis, helped out Level 1 Productions and other major ski movie companies. I am currently sponsored by Tall T Productions and Shred Optics.

I like to film and edit just about anything. My passion for film expands beyond the ski community which is where it all began. I especially like to get outdoors and film time-lapses and film other activities during the spring, summer, and fall.
