Lita Rosario, my niece, my incredible humble lawyer niece cared for her mother my sister during her long illness until her physical passing! As she cared for her mother she managed with her mother's support and encouragement to write the winning brief for a federal court case. Not only has Lita supported everyone of our family with anything we need regarding the law throughout her whole career, for free refusing payment from any of us even when offered, her work has always been to fight for the small people against major record companies and wrongdoing and win their rights. She has won " Who Let the dogs out" case and Drew Hill and many other copy right cases. Well, now she has used the law and her legal skills and practice as an entertainment lawyer in her own practice for good again! Winning an appeal in a case with the Federal courts to renew copyright case against Timberlake. Lita set a precedence for artist with music copy written before 1978. Congratulation Lita Rosario, WYZ Girls Entertainment! Your mom, my sister is looking over you! blog.findlaw.com, Court Renews Copyright Case Against Timberlake, biglabustiness.com

Using Our Online Ethnicity-Owned-Directory
I used 5 businesses that are listed in Elegant Living Directory in February and March.
Those business paid me for listing in the directory and I paid them for their service or products.
• I used Africa Love/Travel to go on a fact finding missions to find a way to develop an African American Legacy Homestead in Senegal, Africa similar to Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
• I used the 60 year old Walnut Deluxe Cleaners to clean my white coat.
• I used Ezen I-Marketing and Research to manage my website
• I used Frugal Book store to get some book on business and marketing to read on my trip to Senegal and to use for my entrepreneurship curriculum I wrote.
• This month I ordered the delicious looking cookies from CC Devine Cookies.
• And I will be using my new business CPA Jackman Accountants for business and tax matters
This gives an idea of how exchanging money with each other is the key to our success and it will snowball, as long as, we consciously make this our practice. You see, until we exchange money with each other’s businesses we will not be able to realize our true financial potential.
Ask Jewish Community and the Vietnamese Community!
Ethnicity owned Brick and Mortars and eCommerce Websites please join our directory and get in our circle and use a least one business a month. WE CAN DO THIS.

I believe getting found in search is the primary concern, and I base that assertion on working with small business clients. From my perspective, local small businesses should do three things:
1. Set up a mobile-friendly, search-engine-optimized website and update it as frequently as possible with keyword-optimized, topically-relevant content (think blog here);
2. Get consistent listings and citations in local and industry directories. NAP consistency and a well-optimized listing can help improve local SERPs;
3. Participate in social media, with an emphasis on sharing information relevant to the local community.
Of course, once traffic comes to the site, the business owner must have conversion mechanisms in place, to turn lookers into buyers, either online or in-store, but that's a topic for another discussion.

Why Do We Teach Financial Literacy Without Entrepreneurship Training:
Somehow for me the question always arises “why are we teaching financial literacy without entrepreneurship training?” After all, Mass Education Standards now require all vocational students to take entrepreneurship and career development classes that highlight financial literacy! Not only that jobs are being outsourced to independent contractors who specialize in skill sets. Independent contractors are entrepreneurs! I have been asking this question since day one of my participation in the Boston Alliance for Economic Inclusion BAEI and the young man with his enthusiastic tone asked the same question at the meeting. We were on the same page! After all a rapper told my son when he was 12 to save a dollar a day and he did through college. Cell phones are an extension of our youth hands today. Banks have us banking with our cell phones on line, youth and ordinary people can now start making income online and opening-up legitimate accounts at friendly culturally competent banks.
Boston Alliance for Economic Inclusion
The last BAEI meeting I attended was professionally organized and the presentations, discussions and programs offered where extremely informative and successful. The goal of these meetings is to create and analyze ways middle and low-income families can access the debt/credit banking system as a means of building capacity and wealth! Some products offered by banks are savings accounts, checking accounts, credit/ debit cards, loans, home mortgages, IRA’s and other bank products. The question of how do the unbanked come back and utilize the banks again is the overarching issue the BAEI is hoping to solve.
Paula Horwitz is the key community coordinator for FDIC BAEI. Often with references from the membership Paul strategically chooses speakers and distributes content to BAEI members. The goal is to promote, develop and involve programs that train unbanked ordinary people and youth in financial literacy that leads to using banking products and services. Some of these programs are the “Money Smart” curriculum a banking literacy curriculum used by non-profit programs and school communities. Bank Round Tables where financial institutions give youth an opportunity to learn key banking concepts and question similarities and differences in what different banks offer consumers. Kindergarten savings programs also give students and their families an early foundation in financial literacy.
Membership
Most of the people who attend the BAEI meetings are Massachusetts bankers and non-profits. Non-profits are always invited. Companies like Elegant Living Directory Services that connect to non-profits must be referred by members and approved by Paul to attend. Banks are the primary beneficiaries because they are working to bring consumers back to the bank to meet Community Reinvestment Act Standards for federal funding. The standards are seriously enforced by FDIC.
Financial Literacy Programs
The guest non-profits gave a presentation on the successful implementation of “Money Smart” in Worcester and in Lynn, Massachusetts. Advanced work on financial literacy in those districts was a goal for the groups that presented in those communities. Acquiring good credit standard was a problem another presenter posed for one third of another non-profits clients. The scenario she presented was of a client who lost a job the non-profit agency had assisted in getting because of her bad debt situation. The client on the job was banned from getting payroll deductions by any bank and lost her corporate job after being hired as an employee! Circle programs and other resources were offered as solutions. This is where entrepreneurship will makes the best sense!
A new approach
The next presenter at our meeting was the 23-years old enthusiastic program coordinator from a Chelsea, Mass non-profit I mentioned above. The young man presented a new and proven strategy for engaging youth in financial literacy. The strategy used influencers, social media and Pizza and it caused the attention of youth from all over his community! Influencers like sports players, musical idols, business people and technology like Snap Chat and Twitter was the strategy used to get youth organized and ready to hear what was being presented. Literacy and entrepreneurship was exactly what he proposed for the youth he mentored. We exchanged numbers and will meet next week!

My first career was working in Child Development . I taught preschoolers, managed and directed programs, wrote curriculum, consulted to Headstart Programs, locally and nationally and trained high school students in the field. Even solicited from the hallways of the high school Black boys into my Child development classes. When the boys decided they did not want to work directly with children because it was not masculine but wanted to make toys and basketball playgrounds for the children I changed my career to business and entrepreneurship and then taught mixed entrepreneurship classes at the same school for over 6 years. Students produced a lot of business ideas scaled to doable over the years in my classes. Then, I used the Black Pages as one of my classroom resources Internet was not accessible. Now students are tech savvy and we have Elegant Living Directory Services as a business services resource for businesses and our youth can benefit too. Ask a student to pull out their phone and analyze our directory and watch how astute they are! Please list your minority business in our directory for your own exposure online and offline and for all the students in elementary, secondary and undergrads, grads and advanced grads and their parents locally, nationally and globally to see and use!
