Hello Boston Theater Community!

We all know that theater doesn’t pay for itself! We need to help ourselves, and each other. So join me in donating to the Boston Area Theater Auditions?

On April 7 and 8, Boston Playwrights' Theatre will host general non-AEA auditions in support of the actors, producers, and community members who work here. The Boston Area Theatre Auditions are a community effort, coordinated by a volunteer Leadership Committee of area theatre professionals, and funded by producer fees and donations.

If you we want to see this valuable community resource continue, please donate! $10 can go a long way.
All donations through will go toward the running of the of the Annual BATA auditions only.

$10, $25 $50 - every small donation adds up to quite a bit. We raised over $600 towards our goal yesterday, let's see if we can get it up over $1000 today, and hit our goal of $2400 by the end of the week!

All Aboard! We're looking for stand-ups, improvisors, and comedic actors to guide our comedy themed trolley tours!

We’re hiring performers with a great sense of humor, quick wit, and a love of engaging directly with audiences. If you have a unique comedic perspective and love to make people laugh, we want to hear from you!

The Masshole Comedy Trolley Tours are a completely unique experience, allowing performers to entertain audiences while showcasing the city in an alternatingly smart and stupid manner.

Auditions will be held on Monday February 12th at the Asylum CoLab from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

To schedule an audition or for more information, please email [email protected] with your headshot and resume.

Please prepare a 2-3 minute stand-up set, a character piece, or comedic bit to showcase your skills. In addition, be prepared to showcase your versatility and ability to adapt to different audiences and environments.

Performers who get cast will be given a scripted outline of information and taken through a paid rehearsal process. Performances will be paid, with additional opportunities for tips from the guests.

We can't wait to see what you've got!
