Is this normal to have visible caulk to hold bathtub in place? The contractor claims the caulk will dry clear. I know some caulk does dry clear but it’s been >24hrs and not much change. My eye goes right to the caulk. Also, is it normal for the tub to be off the floor for dust etc to collect?

Help! I bought this bookshelf and obviously did not read the dimensions correctly (or at all) 😩. How can I make it look okay here without getting a new shelf? We have nine foot ceilings and the bookshelf is 5.5 ft tall.

Hoping someone here has had the same problem. I have an old house, so I bought an old bed. The old bed does not fit the new twin box spring. I bought an entire bedframe to go inside the existing old bed. Is there another better option that doesn’t cost me 100s of dollars?

Hi, not really old house related even though our house was built in 1949.

This shower was put in in the last eight years.

The white stuff on the dark brown grout is the reason I am posting.

Here is what I have tried to get it out:
Baking Soda
Thieves Cleaner
Baking soda and vinegar
Scrubbing the hell out of it with a very stuff brish
Baby oil with baking soda
*I had the most success with #5 but as you can it looks awful.

I am sure I have scrubbed off protecting coatings from both the grout AND the tile in the process and yet the yuc is still there.

What would you suggest to get it off?
If I am successful in cleaning it off totally should I coat the bottom of my shower floor and grout with something to help keep it from appearing again?
What is it? Minerals in my water? Do I need a water softener?
