Director Maria Agui Carter will present the Opening Keynote for The International Conference of Hispanic Women in Film (CIMCiH) tomorrow morning! Taking place online and live at Clark University, MA, this biannual conference creates dialog within a wide and diverse group of creators, academics and students seeking to explore and raise the visibility of Latina filmmakers behind the camera.

This second edition of CIMCiH, titled “Cronografias,” will be celebrated live and on line Oct. 20 & 21, 2023. On line links here:

Did you know that a report conducted by USC Annenberg in 2021 found that only 21.9% of Hispanic/Latino producers were women, and overall, Hispanic/Latina producers represented less than 1% of all producers across 1,300 top movies?

NALIP’s Diverse Women in Media Initiative (DWIMI) seeks to empower, inspire and advance women of diverse backgrounds to influential positions in media to improve representation of underrepresented communities. The 2021 Diverse Women in Media Forum (DWIMF) on Dec. 1st-2nd brings together diverse women to meet, inspire and empower each other to elevate their careers in the industry.
