Less than a week to go until the Boston Marathon and we are very excited to have the broadcast this year on WCVB Channel 5 Boston.

A few months ago, I ruminated on a unique way to bring the course *to* the viewer and thought I could run through each town and city along the route with an expert guide.

It exceeded my expectations thanks to the expertise of the runners and the tremendous skill of our photographers, editors, and graphic designer.

It only took me 8 weeks to run 26.2 miles!

There are 8 separate pieces below:
Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brighton/Brookline, and Boston.

Boston Tri 2019

Next Sunday, August 29, I’ll be swimming, biking, and running the Boston Triathlon along Carson Beach in South Boston. The race was canceled last summer and I’m glad they are bringing it back! Plus, as I did in 2019, I’ll be doing live reports for WCVB Channel 5 Boston from the starting line throughout the morning before I get going on the course and the finish line after. (Video attached from two years ago) And I’m again raising money with the Columbia Threadneedle team for Boston Medical Center, a hospital dedicated to equity, and one that treats Boston’s most vulnerable residents. This year, more than ever BMC has been on the front lines, trying to reach communities with mobile Covid vaccine clinics. And in the throes of the pandemic, sending out medical staff in a pediatric ambulance to make sure children didn’t miss their important vaccines to stay healthy. BMC provides more trauma and emergency services than any other Boston hospital. I cover many of the stories when violent crime and accident victims are rushed to the ER - and the team there is often able to assist with medical miracles to help people live.
