Josh Fox

Josh Fox is Founder and Artistic Director of the award winning film and theater production house International WOW Co. Over the last 15 years, Josh has written, directed and produced two feature films and over 20 works for the stage. His feature documentary debut GASLAND has been nominated for the 2011 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, the WGA Award for Best Documentary Screenplay, won the 2010 Environmental Media Association Award for Best Documentary, won the 2010 Sundance Special Jury Prize, the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival Artistic Vision award, the Audience Award at Thin Line Film Festival, the Special Jury Prize at Sarasota International Film Festival, Best Environmental Doc at the traverse City Film Festival and the Grand Jury Prize at the Yale Environmental Film Festival. He is a recipient of the 2010 John Lennon/Yoko Ono Grant for Peace along side of Alice Walker and Michael Pollan and a 2010 Rockefeller Cultural Innovation Fund grant. His narrative feature MEMORIAL DAY debuted in 2008 at CineVegas Film Festival. The New York Times hailed him as “one of the most adventurous impresarios of the New York avant- garde” and Time Out NY called him “one of downtown’s most audacious auteurs,” citing his “brilliantly resourceful mastery of stagecraft.” Josh earned his BA from Columbia University. His work has received grants from The Park Foundation, The Fledgling Fund, The Sundance Institute via Cinereach, the 11th Hour Fund, the Rockefeller Foundation, The MAP Fund, The Doris Duke Charitable Trust, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council for the Arts, The Ford Foundation, The Asian Cultural Council, The Japan Foundation, The Japan United States Friendship Council, The Cultural Ministry of Germany, The Audrey Love Foundation and many others.
