Holy Smoke release "Stephen Colbert for President (Go-Go Vote 2024 remix)" featuring Jay Potts

Two years ago today on October 14th, 2022, we learned that Jay Potts had tragically passed way a day earlier. During that year, Jay had hunkered down in Maine at Launch Pad Studios with Todd Erickson and John Edwards tracking drums for what would become legendary Holy Smoke songs. We had no way of knowing we were capturing Jay's last known recordings, photos, and video of him doing his badass funky groove thaang.

Today, we are very proud and honored to celebrate Jay's legacy by sharing one of Jay's favorite songs recorded with Todd, "Stephen Colbert for President (Go-Go Vote 2024 remix)". Recorded remotely with computer drums during the 2020 lockdown, and originally released during the election mayhem, Jay injected his signature brand of "go-go metal" drumming, as he called it. Call it what you will, Jay knew exactly how make this track R.O.C.K. !!

We are super stoked to announce that Boston legend and punk rock icon Bob Cenci has joined the garden!

Bob Cenci is most known for his Boston punk beginnings as guitarist and songwriter for Jerry's Kids from the 80's to 2019. Throughout his career, he's had several side projects including Hellcats From Outer Space, a SciFi BMovie band with loads of homemade celestial props and costumes. Check for release The Possession of Dr. Zachary Smith 7" four song ep & X-15 SexAlien / Mr.Universe 7" single.

Cenci also stood in as a guitarist for Boston's FUs/Strawdogs for the EU tour in ‘91 then toured with Gang Green in the US / Europe in 2006. Recently, he has revived the Wynotts and plays guitar, writes songs, and worked with the group to put out a 11 song CD The Wynotts / Way Back Now. The songs are from 2008-09 and were released in 2024.

From the very beginning, Bob had learned guitar on acoustic and every now and again gravitates toward solo gigs to keep his songs and his wits about him. With Bob Cenci's Orange Guitar, the adventure is to put himself in the writer's seat and let his orange guitar rule the stage with varied styles of music and his musician friends.
