Another amazing trip down to the lowcountry this past weekend! ✈️

We kicked things off with a sit down with Charleston Battery head Coach Ben Pirmann and his golden friend, Rufus! 🎤

On match day we once again were greeted warmly by The Regiment and Barra Charleston . The welcome from the supporters is felt as they enjoyed good beer, good food, and good company. We even got a closer look at the No Quarter Derby Chest and Southern Derby Cup! 🏆

We connected with Jessie, one of the founding members of the original supporters group of Tampa Bay Rowdies! We also were in the company of Tampa Bay Rowdies/IMG Academy/USF PA announcer Ryan Sudol! In 2023 Ryan was given the opportunity to be the PA for a Norwich City match in the EFL. This opportunity came from the partnership Tampa Bay Rowdies and Norwich City announced back in 2019. The club partnership included training camps, community projects, and plans that developed soccer in the Tampa Bay Area. Jessie and Ryan took full advantage by being the halftime show at Carrow Road, playing 1v1 soccer in inflatable balls! 💛💚

Patriots Point never lets us down! The local vendors, facilities, and support were in full force. This was a sold out crowd that roared on for 90+ minutes! 🗣️

Lastly, your two favorite podcasters were even spotted on national television through CBS Sports! 📺

There’s nothing quite like a weekend getaway. Our recent adventure brought us to the coast of Maine at the best time of the year, if you’re into trees. While the colors of Autumn served up the perfect backdrop we had footy on the brain.

First stop, Allagash Brewing Company. What’s not to love. We slid into our lab coats, strapped on the goggles and did what we could to unearth the secrets of the suds that our taste buds crave. What did we learn you ask? That Andrew and Connor aren’t scientists, and better suited as consumers of that precious Allagash White.

Next the illustrious Honda Civic ushered us to the field that will soon live in the hearts of soccer fans in the state. Many teams have battled under the lights of Fitzpatrick Stadium but the competition is destined to hit an entirely new level.

After a night on the town, we packed our gear to record one of our most exciting episodes since the start. A sit down with two brilliant minds behind Portland Hearts of Pine. More to come!

And finally the last stop. Home to beer, music, and soccer. . Every fan knows there are things that cannot be described but only experienced. This spot embodies all of that. Chelsea vs Liverpool was on the screen, support from both sides rang out, but through it all the appreciation for the game stood tallest. Similar to our episode on the brink, you can soon live this trip with us through the lens of our shaky camera work. We hope that then, you’ll have an inkling of what’s unfolding in this soccer community.

What a night in the Ocean State! 🌊

Can’t thank Rhode Island FC enough for having us! Everything about this club is worth the hype. The match day experience, supporters group, and staff were top notch. A competitive game and even in the rain, we saw a packed house.

Great to catch the Charleston Battery and the 🐐 Ben Clemens! Thanks as always for your support! ⚫️🟡

We can’t wait to see this club continue to grow and see the development continue with their home stadium as it’s set to kick-off in 2025! 🏟️

It’s been a jam packed week of footy but there are some howlers from last weekends action that require a second look.

Mason Holgate must’ve watched one too many John Wick scenes before taking the pitch against Brighton. His dangerous energy led to viewers witnessing one of the worst fouls in the modern game. Thankfully Mitoma walked away from this one and some credit to VAR… the quickest corrected decision to date.

Kalvin Phillips will be spending a few extra minutes in the locker room thinking through his first performances for the Hammers. It began with an error leading directly to a goal in his debut and most recently ended with seeing a second yellow. Not quite the type of impact player West Ham thought they were getting.

The last one is at least something we’ve seen before. Harry Maguire. Sure he had a poor challenge to add to the bunch, but it was his distribution that turned United fans’ hair gray. The defender stood over a simple restart and chose to pass it directly to Luton. Perhaps he thought “Why not give them a chance?”. It is clear that Manchester United learn slow, but they should know by now that the simpler the task the harder Harry makes it look

Roy Hodgson has stepped down as Crystal Palace manager. At 76 years old this man has not skipped a beat! Although the end of his time with the South London club isn’t on a high note, we can’t not applaud for him for his ability and his passion to stay within the game.

Whether this is is his last stint as a manager or not, here are FIVE facts you might have not known about this English legend.

1. Hodgson speaks SEVERAL languages including Swedish, German, French, and Italian. 🇸🇪🇩🇪🇫🇷🇮🇹

2. At the International level he holds the record for managing the most national teams (4). Hodgson was able to take Switzerland to their first ever World Cup in 1998. 🌍

3. Hodgson is in fact Knighted! In 2012 he received this honor by the Order of the Lion of Finland. 🇫🇮

4. Before his illustrious managerial career, Hodgon was recognized as gifted footballer with a successful playing career. ⚽️

5. In 2022 Hodgson was made Commander of the Order of British Empire (CBE), receiving his medal from Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.🇬🇧
