My name is Angelique and I'm the founder and sole designer here at my custom printables shop. I'm a scientist, DJ, graphic designer, event planner, and musician, but my favorite job of all is being Mama to a dynamic, kind, and hilarious baby girl. I've been a graphic designer since high school when I created my first music department award certificates as Concert Choir President, and I haven't bee
n able to stop designing since! My generation grew up with all the breakthrough digital art technology, so I've spent my life honing my skills through each new iteration of graphic design tools. I've always enjoyed designing collages, calendars, signs, greeting cards, commemorative photos, banners, scientific posters, etc., but I only decided to sell my creations when I was pregnant with my daughter. When it came time to add details to our baby shower plans, we decided we wanted an entirely customized experience for our guests, complete with a matching theme and stationery. I had designed almost every facet of the party, and with my mother's voice in the back of my head cheering my entrepreneurial spirit on, I realized I should share my hobby with the world. With a lot of hard work and commitment, I opened up Custom Printables for All on Etsy in May 2022. One of my favorite things about our girl is how much she loves music! She's been singing and grooving since she was old enough to babble and move which, as a vocalist and pianist, just makes me swoon! We also practice Montessori methodology, so we value toys that are screen-free and promote creativity and independence. Having wanted to buy our daughter something that fits those preferences while also giving her access to playing her own music safely at any time, we decided that the Yoto is a perfect fit for us. The Yoto offering Make Your Own (MYO) cards was our biggest incentive to buy as this family listens to a lot of music, podcasts, and audiobooks on a daily basis. Then of course, within no time, I stumbled upon a brand new hobby addiction creating custom MYO labels with our little one's name and picture on them. I was baffled to find that such an awesome product didn't exist to purchase on Etsy or even in a Google search. So quickly I decided to offer her designs in my store and start a blog! But Why Name it 'Custom Printables for All?'
I chose Custom Printables for All as my store name because I feel it is the most accurate way to describe my business and myself. I believe in kindness, inclusion, and non-discrimination, and it's important to me to represent all humans in my work. Along my travels using Etsy personally, I'd always noticed that listings, mockups, and images generally tend to fit into the same cookie-cutter model and it really bothered me. The same looking people with the same handful of names - monochrome in both aesthetics and diversity. I don't feel that what's out there accurately reflects the vast spectrum of people and families, so I made it my mission to do things differently. I commit to representing a range of abilities, cultures, relationships, families, etc. in my images, example names, and products. It's important for each one of us to see ourselves represented in the world, and I'm making sure to do my part so we all can eventually feel seen.
