Aurora Over the Boise Foothills
✨ About last night… I went out to an undisclosed location 🤫 in the Boise foothills to catch the Aurora.
The cloud cover was pretty thick so around 10pm, after two hours, I decided to pack it in and go home. On my way walking down a hill. I saw some large light shafts in the sky with my naked eye. I took a test photo with my iPhone, and it was amazing!
Needless to say, I put the tripod back out, positioned the camera, and captured these timelapses. I am ecstatic with how these turned out. I hope you enjoy!

Spirit of Boise @spiritofboise - I was fortunate enough to get on the schedule for a bucket list beautiful morning media day ride in a hot air balloon. It was a special moment I will not forget. (Technically this was August 31st, but I’m counting it) Thanks to @blueskiesballoon for taking us up!
Jump Creek - We took a little Labor Day trip to Jump Creek for a mini-hike and some time outside. Life can get real busy sometimes, it’s nice to get out in nature.
Freak Alley Gallery - @freakalleygallery recently added new art to downtown Boise’s outdoor gallery space. I highly recommend checking it out next time you’re downtown.
Influencer meetup - Big thanks to @hellomeridian and @cravekitchenbar for putting together and hosting a local influencer meetup in September. It was a great time and so much fun to have face-to-face conversations with other content creators.
Barrio Taqueria - My forever taco date @asiaalora and I are pretty big fans of @barrioboise in Bown Crossing. They have top three Barria Tacos in Boise and their spicy El Chapo gin ancho reyes verde’ cocktail is one of my favorite drinks in town.
Season and Taste - I had never been to a cooking class until @seasonandtastecookingschool reached out with an invite. If this is what learning to cook is like I want more. We had a the best time sipping wine, chopping veggies, and getting yelled at for being loud (well.. that was just me 😆) If you’re looking for a unique and fun date night, I highly recommend it.
September (and the entire summer) went by in a flash, but I’m feeling ready for some cooler weather, soup season, and a fall wardrobe. The fall and winter months are my prime time to look ahead and work on the future.

✨ HYDE PARK STREET FAIR ✨
The Hyde Park Street Fair, one of Boise’s most unique arts & music festival, is this weekend! Starting this Friday in the North End’s Camel’s Back Park, this event has been a yearly Boise tradition since 1979.
The Hyde Park Street Fair is a free, family-friendly community event featuring a plethora of food options, live music, activities, and over 100 arts and craft vendors.
FAIR SCHEDULE:

Saturday | 10am - 9:30pm
Sunday | 10am - 6pm
All proceeds from the Fair go to the non-profit @northendneighborhoodboise Association. Your participation aids in supporting neighborhood and community programs such as school grants, neighborhood improvement projects, and initiatives to prevent housing insecurity.

I wasn’t planning to make this post today, but after deleting many, many comments on my What To Do This Weekend post and needing to block some people from the page in the last 24 hours I feel like I need to.
Yesterday I posted a simple photo of @boisepride, of smiling people in our community who are simply trying to peacefully exist.
Every year I make a post about pride in some form and every year I’m disappointed by hateful, disgusting & homophonic comments and messages.
I have many close friends who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, all wonderful people who deal with this type of rude, inhumane behavior with positivity and grace. My #straightally flag is flies often on my porch and will for the rest of the month.
We’re all allowed to believe what we want. We have the right to disagree about.. anything, but there is zero need for hateful comments, gross insults, and disrespect.
I love Boise. That’s why I run this account. Boise feels less like a city and much more like a community, but this ugly behavior undermines that and has no place on my pages or in Boise.
To everyone that participates in this gross behavior: Do better. Be better. Be nicer.
Your hate will be deleted and I really don’t care that much about the follower counts.
The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic - from the sky! 🎈
This morning I checked off a bucketlist item with a hot air balloon ride at the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic!
The experience was full of breathtaking views of the Boise area, a water skip on an Esther Simplot Park pond, and a champagne toast with the flight crew once we returned the ground. 🥂
We rode on the “Blue” balloon (official name “Orange” - yeah, you read that right), piloted by Mike Stone and the crew from @blueskiesballoon which were absolutely fantastic to us. I learned so much about the art of ballooning and its history.
Big thanks to @capedcu and @blueskiesballoon for the opportunity, as well as @asiaalora for setting it up and tagging along!
This hopefully wasn’t a once in a lifetime experience, but it’s something I’ll defintely remember. The @spiritofboise runs through the weekend. See the earlier post for the full schedule.
