[Boogie Transmission]: TONIGHT! It's National Radio Day and at 11pm, I'll be paying tribute to the loud and bizarre world of late night radio. The kind of radiowaves that catch you on a late drive home, the kind you're not sure anyone else is hearing.

6 years ago, I found a signal like this one night after work. It delivered the strangeness available on my dial that I had always dreamed of. And while I hoped those weird vibrations from my stereo were my little secret, I quickly learned that this borderline demonic broadcast was being orchestrated by Joe Black on a show called The Nightime Asylum and this signal was called Radio Boise.

At night, the road belongs to the animals, and the airwaves belong to the weirdos. I submitted a show proposal to the station shortly after my strange encounter. I was quickly brought into the fold to create my own late night show. The once faceless and mysterious Joe Black trained me, and I found community.

[Boogie Transmission]: I was so stoked to be able to chat with Cam Hilborn of Wine Lips this afternoon! Their new album, "Super Mega Ultra" came out this past Friday, and they'll be coming to Boise on May 14th with Monsterwatch!

[BOOGIE TRANSMISSION]: I am SO STOKED for tonight! Radio Boise's Practice New Year's Eve Party is tonight at The Basque Center from 5-10pm! Live DJs, silent auction, karaoke AND the might RAM-ONES will be performing The Ramones self-titles debut in its ENTIRETY + a few extra hits! We'll be playing a total of 18 songs tonight and I'm curious to see if we play for more than 40 minutes!

[BOOGIE TRANSMISSION]: I'm dedicating tonight's broadcast to my friend Greg Hatfield, whose life ended this past weekend. Greg and I worked in a together in a tiny kitchen, we shared music and movies, cooked for our friends, and during the pandemic, we played Pokemon Go in an empty movie theater.

I love sharing music with people, and I know Greg did too. So tonight, we're going to listen to the music he shared. So tune in and get wild and if you're out there, Greg, I hope you can hear us.

[Boogie Transmission]: This one is a big stinger for me. Meat Loaf, with his music and his spirit, speaks to the furious Cinderella in all of us. I've thrown on his records to plow through the most difficult times in my life, just like he plowed through life surviving 18 concussions. To me, he is a symbol for believing in yourself even when, by all accounts, you shouldn't belong. For all that and more Meat Loaf will always be the wind beneath my bat wings.
