Humble Duck

Good morning Sunshine!
As I sorted through thousands of photos I have captured over the last few decades to create an honorable first post for this new account, I stumbled upon this duck/goose sunbathing. Technically this photo is not perfect. It could have better focus points, the composition could use some help as the bird is out of frame and the lighting is obviously overexposed. As I found myself in a fluster of egoic pride, comparing myself to the millions of other content creators out there I asked myself, what is it about this photo that drew me to it out of the many other great photos in my portfolio. The answer for me was the message behind it. The warm, hopeful feeling of a brand new day. Despite our flaws and lack of perfection, the beauty of humanity is the journey. Today I choose to bow my head to the light. I put my focus on the "why" instead of the "how". I choose to see beauty instead of imperfection. I invite you to join me on this journey.
