Requesting help with Reaper (a DAW, Digital Audio Workstation) from the soundies/techies amongst you. The recordings I'm working on have a problem: The mics we used came in pairs, and one mic from a pair got switched with another. Long story short, I have some recordings where one mic A is recording person A in one room, and mic B is recording person B in another room. I have another recording from the second room, so I'd like to subtract it from the first recording. I understand that 'inverting' the signal might do it, but they aren't exact copies, so I'm not sure how much subtraction I'm going to get. I'm not sure I'm getting any yet.
To rephrase:
Recording Alpha: Mic 1/Speaker 1 plus Mic 2/Speaker 2
Recording Beta: Mic 3/Speaker 2
I want to subtract Beta from Alpha to get a better copy of Speaker 1.
Tips are appreciated, messenger chats even more so, and a screen share to show me how it's done would be a miracle of rare device.
