The Story Behind Singing Mouse
As avid animal lovers, Susan and Emily decided to start a non-profit organization dedicated to the fair treatment of animals and accurate education for the public. They have always made decisions on the care that they do based upon the animals wishes and the quality of life that the animal has, but this has been instilled in both of them from a very young age.
From a young age, Susan has always rescued animals from bugs and rodents to turtles. She would then take them home and nurse them back to heath. In her teen years, she decided to volunteer at her local humane society where she would then foster cats. As she grew older, she took her love for animals a step further by joining a wildlife group where she would take in injured and orphaned wildlife and rehabilitate them. In present time, she is a member of the National Wildlife Federation and a volunteer for South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Besides from owning her on 501c3 non profit, she is very eager to help out fellow rehabbers, independent rehabbers, and groups with their needs.
On the other hand, Emily, born and raised in the Hilton Head area, has always had her heart set out to help and heal animals of any size. From the time she was 8 years old, she has rescued cats and dogs from bad living situations and nursed their emotional scars with her love and patience. In her teen years, she decided to start expanding her love to different species and joined a wildlife group, where just like Susan, would take in injured and orphaned wildlife and would rehabilitate them. In the present time, she is a volunteer for South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and is a board member for Singing Mouse Wildlife Rescue. She aspires to be a board certified veterinarian specializing in emergency and critical care and holistic medicine. Emily is also willing to help out fellow rehabbers, independent rehabbers, and groups with their needs.
