The S.A.F.E (Stay Alive Family Education) House had its grand opening tonight in the Carmel Clay Community Building, hosted by the Carmel Fire Department.
Located within the new headquarters, the S.A.F.E. House is an immersive learning space designed to teach kids essential fire and life safety skills. Set up like a mini-town complete with multiple buildings, a fire engine, and an ambulance, it’s an exciting place where safety meets adventure and imagination!
In the S.A.F.E. House, kids don’t just learn about safety—they experience it. This space will offer realistic simulations of house fires, tornadoes, and other natural disasters, allowing children to engage all their senses through sights, sounds, and hands-on activities. It’s a dynamic environment where learning becomes an adventure, equipping the next generation with the knowledge they need to stay safe and thrive in any situation—and hopefully inspire the next generation of Carmel firefighters!
We hope you had a happy Independence Day! While the 4th of July display has concluded, Eos: The First Dawn, will be playing every Thursday-Sunday at nightfall with the last show beginning at 11PM, free to the public.
Here’s what we’ve bean up to:
We rigged up a compact walking pad that rolls a pile of coffee beans smoothly over the edge and captured this at a high frame rate on our @red V Raptor to create a waterfall of coffee beans.
You wouldn’t believe the smell 😌☕️
Playing with ink and light to create stunning visuals.
These are some of our favorite assets, which color do you prefer?
Watch with the sound on for full effect!
Here’s the “Brick-down” for how we designed the Lego dance floor at the Red Gala for the Riley Children’s Hospital

Take a behind the scenes look into our process filming the state-of-the-art cancer research labs and clinical facilities alongside the remarkable team at Riley Children’s Hospital. In all, over $730,000 were raised to support kids in need of care.
Today we filmed at the Riley Children’s Hospital for an activation at the annual Red Gala taking place March 9th. Thank you to the Riley Children’s Foundation for your dedication and collaboration

Making Frost - Behind the Scenes of the Palladiscope’s ~Coolest~ show
Experience the innovation and artistry behind our latest production for the Palladiscope at The Palladium in Carmel, Indiana.
We utilized our typical arsenal of practical effects to film the snow, dry ice, musicians, and other effects seen in the show, along with a brand new technique in order to achieve the beautiful icy texture that transforms the Palladium. Custom 3D-printed clear resin panels were filmed as the show file was projected onto them, and these videos were processed, aligned, and RE-projected back onto the Palladium!
Check out these processes in this video, and see our methods even more in-depth on our page.
Huge thank you’s go out to the team of artists and technicians who built the show, the musicians and talent who starred in it, and the City of Carmel and the CRC for their continued support of our processes and visions here at Blockhouse Studios.
The show will play nightly every half hour starting at 6:30 with the last show running at 9 PM.
RESCHEDULED to Saturday, January 27th 2024 at 6:30PM EST at The Palladium at the center for the performing arts.
The Palladium, frozen like a sheet of ice, comes to life with an enchanting one-of-a-kind orchestral spectacular conducted by none other than the father of winter himself, Jack Frost.
This icy spectacular visualizes the elements of winter as a glorious symphony set to Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Dance Of The Tumblers”.

Tucked away as an ambient backdrop to the awe-inspiring Christkindlmarkt, this festive scene depicts two towering nutcrackers and a real-time snow simulation that accumulate flake by flake for thirty minutes. As each half-hour comes to pass the nutcrackers unhinge their mighty jaws and SNAP them shut, sending the snow scattering in a flurry and resetting the clock.
