It’s been a stressful month of prepping to move, so thanks to Get2Tackles LLC, Littleman and Uncle Xeng for inviting me out. It was a much needed trip to get the kayak out. This makes it only the 3rd time my kayak has been out this season, and might be the last until next season. Didn’t land anything impressive, but it was good to get the mind off of things for a bit.

Had a blast yesterday fishing Cedar Lake in New Prague, MN. They were chomping on the 10-4 Tackle blitz grub! Nothing huge, but caught well over 100 crappies and sunnies, and only kept a limit of 8” crappies.

Thanks to Get2Tackles LLC and his family for coming out and fishing and picnicking with us.

Also met a couple of subscribers on the lake, and it’s always an humbling experience to meet people who follows our adventures. Remember, if you see me out there, don’t hesitate to stop on by and say hi, and let’s talk fishing. I enjoy meeting people and I’ll always make time for you all.

The panfish are usually in the shallows, but I think the rain pushed them deeper. Had only 1 bite and lost it after a short battle. Beautiful day to just be out here, though. Now time to hit up another lake, or maybe go grab the Trek and go for a quick 7 mile bike ride…. 🤔

Anyways, I hope everyone out there is enjoying this beautiful Sunday weather and living to their fullest. If you’re being a cough potato today, get up and get out there! Life is too short!

Heading out to test some panfish flies at a local lake fly fishing. Look how cute the stubby whitebass fly is, compared to the normal size whitebass flies. 🤭 only tied one of each, so hopefully they don’t break off!

What do you pack for your road trips??? I always keep my kitchen in my truck, never know when you’ll get hungry and need Asian ingredients for a quick stir fry. There’s really nothing better than a “home” cooked meal on the road.

Took a bit of trial and error but I think I found the perfect mount for the Bass Khang custom rods & tackle LLC tripod livescope mount and pole.

1st option(1st pic) I wanted to use the actual Hobie platform mount, but due to the octagon rail, it made the livescope pole sit diagonally and no way around it. As the mount sits flush with the octagon shape. This was the option I really wanted to work as I can take it off and move it around to either side of kayak if I wanted to. But no go.

2nd option was the mount from Bass Khang, forgot the brand…this mount would have worked! But it was only for up to 1” tubing and the Hobie rail is 1.125”, so the screws would have to go in diagonally and I couldn’t get all 4 screws in. Because of that, the mount came loose after a while on the lake last weekend. It also scraped the heck out of Hobie tail as the screws were right up against the rail.

3rd mount I found on Amazon. Folbe universal rail mount was perfect and fits nicely around the rail. After tightening, it is on there solid and everything is straight.

So far, loving the Bass Khang tripod livescope mount! It has been a great investment! Now paired with the perfect rail mount, I’m going to enjoy using livescope more when chasing schooling fish in lakes and rivers! Link to Bass Khang mount:

Want the bigger wipers? Fish sunset! We didn’t hammer the double digits until sunset. Water around us started to boil as these big mommas started to chase the Shad’s and bait fish. There was a point we couldn’t see where we were casting to, but we just kept casting until we felt a hard hit and the rod jolting and the “fight after the bite” was on!!! Watch as we land these double digits!

This is probably by far the best mounting for livescope pole, I have found, for use on the Hobie kayak. The Bass Khang custom rods & tackle LLC QuickFish Tripod Mount worked great today and gave me no issues. The mounting plate works nicely for a boat, but for the Hobie, you’ll need to get a rail mount which Bass Khang can get for you as well. The Hobie mounting plate does not work too well, due to the way the rail sits, it’ll sit at an angle and not vertical.
