Bed time for these guys and Quinton is trying to escape by taking out the screw from the bottom of the cage. He is such a character always up to something. Cockatoos are notorious for escaping from their cages. Quinton is a busy bird, he’s always scheming.

6 years ago on October 1, 2018 we had a nice quiet household. We took vacations together, our house was intact, we had friends over. Then came Quinton our little monster and that is how it all began. You have to embrace these birds with everything you have or they will break you. It has been to say the least an interesting journey, we had 1 bird and now we have 4. Oh Quinton you drive us crazy but you also make us laugh a lot. You came to us so wild and now you are somewhat less wild but you are so happy and this is your home. Thanks everyone for following us and watching Quinton grow into this funny happy little man.

Birds like communal eating, Ducky not only begs for food she also try’s to eat the food right out of your mouth. Humans saliva isn’t good for birds though, so we don’t encourage that behavior

Quinton loves to chew the corks out of his foot toy. Watch the crows flying over over our skylight at night to get to the rookery, it’s quite spectacular

For years I beat my self up for not being enough for these birds we adopted from this rescue. I have realized that we can only do what we can do when a rescue animal is already sick and neglected because of previous caregivers. Our birds are all very happy flying around our house, we have an outdoor space for them where they can get sunshine. They have the best food and medical care. We love these birds to the moon and back. These birds are in the best care other than being free in the wild were they belong.

Everyday Quinton and Scott chase each other around the house. They have become play buddies through out the years. It didnt start that way Quinton use to lunge and dive bomb Scott. Quinton finally warmed up to Scott and they are now the best of friends.
