One of the most effective ways that I increase my client's reach in the home and design industry is by tagging the brands they work with in their posts, reels, and stories.

This is crucial for their strategy in a number of different ways, but one of the main impacts is the increase of reach from brands resharing their content. Plus, it's critical to give your partners the credit they deserve. Even if they don't acknowledge you tagging them or don't reshare, I promise you - it's appreciated.

This isn't my regular content, but as I've been reflecting back on this second year of Content by Carm, I feel like God laid this on my heart to share. This is truly the best gift during this Christmas season and throughout the whole year.

Happy Thanksgiving from Content by Carm! My list of things I’m thankful for continues to grow year after year, and being able to do this as my job still feels like a dream 🥹 Thank you, Jesus!

I’m so thankful for my husband and his support as I’ve pursued this non-traditional career path, as well as my family and friends 🤎 Special thank you to my incredible clients for making this my favorite job ever and for making my days so enjoyable! This year, I’m also especially grateful for all the new friends I’ve met through social media and in the industry.

Now, I’m off to make some cinnamon rolls to pre-game for this afternoon’s feast 😉

Marketing your business on social media can already feel like a lot, but then when there are new features it can feel even more overwhelming. Here are 3 ways you can approach new features on social media that will keep you learning and relevant but don't make you want to delete the apps forever!

1. Realize you don't have to use them all! There are seriously SO many features out there. It's not realistic to use every single feature for your business account.

2. If you're interested in a new feature, test it out! I recommend trying something new on social media, tracking the impact of it, and then deciding how you're going to implement. If it doesn't work, don't feel pressure to use a feature just because something else is using it!

3. Finally, do a little bit of research on new features to see which ones could have the biggest impact on you. If a feature is specifically designed for product-based businesses but you are an interior designer with services, it's probably not the best fit - and that's okay!

This just happened this week!

Even though it is tempting to either spend hours scrolling on Instagram and Facebook, looking at random reels that have nothing to do with your business, that's not strategic.

And neither is not going on social media at all because you're scared you'll spend too much time or it just overwhelms you.

Instead of these two options, the key to strategically engaging is to spend 10-15 quality minutes on social media each day. Like, comment, and reply to accounts that you are most interested in partnering with or building a relationship with. Ask thoughtful questions and pay attention to what the post is really about before leaving a comment!

You might be amazed at the impact of spending 10 minutes each day on your social media!
