This week's Rare Groove we mourn the loss of one of our own, Bob Dylan aka Dylan Brooks

My heart goes out to all of his friends and family.

I first met Dylan during his time at WUVT-FM 90.7 Blacksburg in the early 2010s. His positive energy, infectious smile, and fiery red hair truly lit up WUVTs studios.

This year, WUVT is turning 75!

For 75 years, WUVT has been committed to providing diverse, eclectic, and educational programming to our listeners in the New River Valley and the world. However, this remarkable achievement would not be possible without the help of years of incredible WUVT alums who dedicated their time to keeping WUVT on the airwaves.

To celebrate the years of hard work put in by our alums, WUVT is hosting a reunion weekend full of events in Blacksburg, VA starting the evening of Friday, March 31, through the morning of Sunday, April 2. You'll have the opportunity to hang out with fellow alums, see the station, meet current students, and more!

Hello fellow WUVT enthusiasts. We would like to update you on the music festival we have been working on this semester. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have decided to indefinitely postpone The Meltdown. We are crushed to announce this, but ultimately would want to put on the best possible show. We will update you on the future of the festival, but in the meantime refunds will be provided to those who have already purchased tickets. We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the station.

ANOTHER GREEN EGGS AND JAM!?? Yeah that’s right, we’re doing another one! The last green eggs went so well and we’re tryna run it back one more time before the semester ends! It’s going down at Henderson Lawn on April 30th 7-10pm. As always, bring your mask and your own instruments. Whether you wanna play or just listen, it’s gonna be an absolute vibe. Hope to see you there!

After a week of nonstop 24/7 on air DJs, we want to give a huge thank you to our staff, DJs, listeners, and of course our donors who helped us raise $16,073.70 last week!! This was our biggest Radiothon in 2 years and we can’t thank our supporters enough. All of the money donated goes directly back into the station so we can keep giving you that signature woovit sound. Our current plans are to upgrade our CD players and turntables as well as renovate our recording studio. Super exciting things for WUVT! Thanks again! 📻
