LEC Launches the Lignite Energy Council Podcast!

We are excited to announce the launch of the LEC Podcast, a new initiative dedicated to spreading awareness about the lignite industry. Hosted by LEC’s Jonathan Fortner, this podcast will delve into the opportunities and challenges that shape our industry, providing a comprehensive look at its impact on our economy, environment, and future.

In each episode, we’ll bring you conversations with industry experts, policymakers, and innovators who are at the forefront of the lignite sector. From research and development to regulatory support and policy making, we’ll hear from the people who help power our region and make sure the lights come on.

The first two episodes are now available on Apple and Spotify podcast platforms. In these episodes, Mike Nasi discusses the EPA’s new rules impacting North Dakota’s coal industry, and Minnesota State Representative Pat Garofalo highlights how Minnesota’s energy policies affect North Dakota.

The third episode, coming this week, features ND State Representative Anna Novak. She shares her story of how she got into politics and her views on energy as a key legislator representing coal country.
