Ready for an update of the life of a Breast Cancer Warrior…

Well day to day struggles vary and there are ups and downs…

Over the past year and a half my body has try to fail me so many times… 2 life saving emergency surgeries…

And then a Breast cancer diagnosis…
Surgery ✅
Radiation ✅
7 years of Tamoxifen… ongoing
Every fu***ng imaginable side effect from both radiation and tamoxifen ✅

Daily pain, hot flashes, nausea, vomitting, gastritis, weaken chest and ribs bones, fatigue, lymphedema… those are just a few of my daily physical struggles… emotional ones are a struggle… I have 5 amazing kids I try to hold it together for… but thinking over these past few months I am struggling….

Dom was out 6.5 months with an injury but before that he missed some hockey for me… because of me… because my pain and fatigue were to great for me to safely get him there. All my kids sacrificed for me. The mom guilt is so strong when you feel like you’re not enough or giving enough… how about wife guilt, employee guilt… it piles on.

Cancer is fu***ng toxic no matter the stage it will forever change my life, my body and how I feel… I wasn’t prepared for my new normal daily struggles … I was told it’s rare but yes the pain of the bones and weaken bones can happen… but no one can truly prepare you for the change it will truly have on your whole life and the old normal you morn and grieve. Some days are so hard. But I keep my head up and know I am here and that is so incredibly important.

I am grateful for my husband, my rock… even as much of a mess as I’ve been lately he’s been keeping me grounded.
