Rain starting late Monday morning with 1/4"-1/2" expected. Showers around Tuesday, with a Bigger storm possible with 1-2" of rain expected. Poconos could end as snow Wednesday night with minor accumulations.

Back to colder air starting Thursday, looking way down the line I'm seeing plenty of cold air showing up from the 20th-25th with at least one storm chance.

AM snow expected Thursday morning between 5AM and 10AM, could provide a quick coating to maybe an inch during the morning rush, we than turn very windy with snow squalls possible throughout the day and wind gusts pushing 50MPH! A nuisance event will target the area tomorrow morning, it is a clipper system so they are moisture starved. My concern here is the timing of it and how cold the surface is. Any snow that falls will turn to black ice rapidly, please use caution during the morning rush. School delays may be possible due to timing. Heavy winds for Thursday afternoon with snow squalls possible.

Start: 4-5AM Thursday
End: 9-10AM Thursday
Stickage: All surfaces
Snow Variety: Light & Fluffy
Winds: 15-25MPH (Gusts to 50mph)
Power Outages: Possible due to wind

I will pop in early tomorrow morning around 5am with an update and radar imagery.

Re: Thursday Morning

Weak clipper system will make its way through the area, however it will be very light in nature.

My concern here is that this appears to affect the morning commute between 4 and 7am Thursday. Even a dusting of snow will be dangerous with how cold it is as it will turn to black ice immediately.

As you can see by the snowfall map, accumulations are very minor everywhere, with less then inch, some spots of 2” possible in the Poconos.

Another big concern is high wind gusts Thursday, up to 50 mph is very possible!

I will continue to monitor.

5:05PM Right on cue, we have severe storms rolling into the Lehigh Valley, looks to hit Allentown and Bethlehem within the next 15-30mins. Many more heavy storms to follow this one!

1:30AM The “finger” has set up pretty much where expected and where I talked about in the video. Lehigh, Berks, Northampton upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning. Places to the north of Allentown are in lighter snow, albeit higher ratio which will make up for lack of banding there.
