Tara Quinn's latest Kickstarter aims to produce 100 pieces of original cryptid-themed stock art. Tara, a lifelong artist and professional tattooist with nearly two decades of experience, has previously created hundreds of stock art illustrations, adding her own new-school, cartoony twist.

What is a cryptid? Cryptids are mythological, legendary, or extinct animals that cryptozoologists believe may exist, even though their presence is not substantiated by the scientific community. Belief in specific cryptids is often regional and is popular across the United States and other countries.

This collection will feature 100 original black-and-grey or line-art illustrations, depicting various cryptids from across the USA and other parts of the world. The style will evoke old-school artwork while incorporating Tara's comic-inspired design. All pieces will be created digitally at high resolution (300 DPI) in various shapes and sizes.

𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞

I wanted to provide a quick update before the end of February. As I mentioned early in the month, all official content was completed. As such, I went ahead and ordered the (hopefully) last test print before the final proof. It arrived early this week and I'm really happy with how it's looking. I did notice one small formatting error and corrected it, but all that now remains is to integrate any further backer contributed content.

On that note, 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝐬𝐭. To ensure the project is delivered on time, there's not much room to push past that date. You can message me with your submission or any questions.

Backer surveys will go out early next month, likely the first Monday of March. I'll send a quick update a day or two before so that you can look out for them. They will remain open for ~ 1 month, closing around April 1st.

I have completed the writing of all official Land of Mist content!

As of earlier this week all writing is completed, and I am about 1/3rd of the way through the first proofreading and editing pass. Over the next few weeks I'll be working on completing this first pass, play testing a few options, and integrating further story contributions. Special thanks to 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 for being the first contributor to submit an adventure!

The rest of the schedule I communicated previously is so far on track:

• Story Contributors - Please message me if you haven't already. I hope to have all drafts by February 15th, with everything fully completed by March 1st.
• Backer Surveys - Planned to go out early March, closing around the 1st of April.
• Fulfillment - PDFs, Print-on-Demand access links and shipping of books planned for mid-April. The goal is for all shipped orders to be received before the end of May.

Lastly, I also completed the map of Land of Mist to be included in the book (and as a separate download). Preview below. Have a happy Groundhog Day tomorrow (for however many days it may last...), I'll have a further update later this month. - Joseph

I really had not imagined my first Kickstarter would go so well, and you all have my sincere gratitude for your backing and support. It's late tonight so I'll keep it short, but will have a further update for you in the coming days with my next steps and timelines for backer surveys. I wasn't sure what to expect when we first launched, but it looks like we're on track to hit 10x of our initial funding goal.
