It's no surprise that we're in an unprecedented election year news cycle.

Whether you're working on a campaign/story that's related to the election, election-adjacent or unrelated altogether, you may find yourself wondering if it's best to put your outreach efforts on hold until well after Election Day Nov. 5th.

We'd argue not necessarily! With the right planning and strategy, your broadcast outreach campaign can be set up for success. Our Director of Media Relations has put together some tips for breaking through the campaign clutter. ⤵

The months leading up to a presidential election can be a challenging time to secure earned media coverage. While media does focus heavily on the election, this should not be a reason to hold off on your broadcast media outreach.

Although Pres. Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation officially declared the end of slavery in the U.S. on Jan. 1, 1863, thousands remained in slavery for another 2.5 years. It wasn't until Union soldiers made it to Galveston, TX on June 19, 1865 that the last Black people were actually freed from slavery. Today we celebrate Juneteenth and continue to work for peoples' stories to be heard.

That's a wrap! Last Friday, members of our team joined forces with an enthusiastic army of endodontists and American Association of Endodontists staff donned in purple “Save Your Tooth” jackets. They made their way to the TODAY show to tout from the morning crowd. 🦷💪 Both teams snapped some photos with Savannah Guthrie and then headed south to AAE's Times Square billboard placement, located at 1500 Broadway. 🏙️ Following the SMT the day before, a paid segment played live on WPIX while the teams were still in Times Square.

Five billion people – an estimated 60% of the world’s population – rely on clothes washed by hand.

According to the World Health Organization, 70% of households depend on women and girls (15+) for water collection and laundry, which often involves extensive travel.

The Washing Machine Project, a UK-based social enterprise, and the Whirlpool Foundation are collaborating to address this issue. They will deliver thousands of manual washing machines - known as the Divya Washing Machine - to low-income and underserved communities and households across the world over the next five years.

Leading up to , helped this collab to spread their news with some air time on TV and radio. The message? This off-grid, manual washing machine, which saves 60-70% of time and 50% of water, is expected to impact an estimated 150,000 people and address a significant barrier to their advancement and quality of life. It will help mitigate many health risks associated with hand-washing clothes, notably contracting infections and water-borne diseases from direct contact with contaminated water sources and unlocking an estimated 17 million hours for women and girls to spend on learning and income-generating activities.
