Adding to our dynamics section, we included the Solid State Logic (SSL) Bus+ compressor. Having cut our teeth on legacy SSL consoles such as the J and K series, we knew we wanted an SSL flavor hardware unit that gives all the nostalgic feel from the iconic consoles of decades past with a modern twist. Having 4 modes of operation, multiple compression settings, and a 2 band parallel dynamic eq section, the Bus+ gave all the options we needed in 1 unit. And, the hidden feature which you can unlock within the unit itself was truly a pleasant surprise! Thank you to SSL for providing us with this incredible and versatile piece of hardware.

This circuitry gives us that sound that you would hear using vintage analog consoles, providing harmonics and depth unlike any other mastering grade compressor we had the pleasure of demoing. We are truly honored to have this piece of audio history inside of our studio.

Heritage Audio provided us with the R.A.M 1000 monitoring system. We didn’t need anything extensive or complicated for a monitor system, but we wanted convenience and reliability. For our studio, the R.A.M 1000 allowed us to have 3 stereo inputs, 2 stereo outputs, and routing flexibility. And with its Bluetooth capabilities, our clients are able to connect to our monitoring system directly from their devices. The Neve console aesthetic isn’t a bad touch either! This was a perfect addition for the studio.

Most professional studios carry the classic NS10 speaker, and we wanted to have a pair to give us a different source of monitoring with the ATC’s. The Avantone Pro CLA-10a were the perfect choice, faithfully recreating that classic hit sound of the white cone speaker, with modern components and technology for convenience and options with the VTPC control. After listening to these speakers for an extended amount of time, they have proven to be even better than the original. We also all share a deep respect for its creator, Chris Lord-Alge whose resume in the industry speaks for itself. Shoutout to Avantone Pro for the assistance with these speakers.

Mix Room NWA chose ATC SCM45a for monitoring. There are a lot of great monitors out there, but ATC has proven to be in an elite class of their own. The stereo imaging and clarity from these handcrafted speakers provide us with every detail needed to accurately mix and master our projects.
