Well guys our AC units finally delivered! After calculating our equipment heat dissipation, a 42,000btu unit should be more than enough the studio will be able to be an ice box if we wish. This is a 3 zone mini split system 18000 btu a zone. The units themselves install recessed into the ceiling and all connect to an outdoor condenser unit. This will give us the ability to shut off certain zones when recording/critical listening as needed all via a phone app and be whisper quiet.

This will be the last update before final reveal. We’re projecting to be moving into this space by this fall. We have HVAC, doors, windows, flooring and lots trim work left to do. As well as acoustical treatment. Stay tuned everyone! We’re so excited to be able to show you all this completed transformation!

Take a listen everyone! He is such a great musician!

For everyone’s curiosity: This is using our house 1896 Decker and Brothers concert grand piano. These pianos are very rare due to their age as well as these were all hand built in the late 18th century by two brothers. Due to the death of one of the brothers the company closed in 1906. I haven’t been able to locate an exact number of this model produced but I couldn’t have been very many. As there is very little information on them on the internet.

Progress update: Sheetrocked the ceiling last night and finished all the low voltage conduits. Next week to start the walls.

ISO Room Progress: false ceiling insulated and isolation board installed. Tonight we add the Sheetrock to the ceiling.
