Due to road conditions across the county, Anderson County Schools will operate on a 2-hour Delay Schedule for Monday, January 13.

This will ensure safer school transportation after daybreak.

Update| Anderson County Coroner’s Office has reported one female has died as a result from the incident earlier.

From the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office regarding a young person that went into the water.

Anderson, SC) - Four fisherman are accounted for near Sadlers Creek State Park after their boat sank Saturday morning.

Anderson County Emergency Management, Dive teams, EMS, Fire and Uniform Patrol all responded, finding four freezing victims out of the water. Three of the four were deemed to be okay on scene, however EMS urgently began working CPR on a woman near the shore, who was rushed to a nearby hospital. Her condition remains unknown at this hour.

We know the four individuals were out on the lake for a private striped bass fishing tournament. As their boat began to sink, the people on board called to the tournament’s staff members for help, immediately alerting first responders. A nearby boat associated with the tournament scooped up the four people in the water, rushing them to first responders and medical treatment.

We will pass along more information on the woman’s condition and are thankful for the quick response by first responders.

All Anderson County Schools will observe an eLearning Day on Friday, January 10, due to forecasted winter storm impacts for our area.

All afterschool and extracurricular activities have been canceled for Friday, January 10, and Saturday, January 11.

Update| 9:38 pm We can confirm this was an armed robbery. At this point the Sheriff’s Office said there were no injuries to report. Employees are shaken up. Forensics and Investigators are actively investigating this incident.

Nicholas Shane Meeks, 31 years old, was denied bond by a Greenville County Magistrate Judge. This is not Meeks' first time having a run-in with the law. Back in March 2024, Meeks was found guilty of DUI. His license was currently suspended for the March 2024 DUI conviction. Meeks was 1.3 miles from his home on 125 Epps Road, Belton, off of Lickville Road, Greenville County. Meeks was denied bond on 4 felony counts of DUI resulting in death and given a $600 bond for driving under suspension.

Update| The Greenville County Coroner's Office has identified two of the four victims from last night. Senior Deputy Coroner Kristy Strange identified Audrey Marie Ross as a 29-year-old white female from Donalds, SC. One victim has been identified as a 30-year-old white female, Amanda Lynn Leroux of North Carolina.
