Saturday, May 11th is the National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive. Our own Belmont Letter Carriers will collect non-perishable food donations from Belmont residents. These donations go directly to the Belmont Food Pantry to provide food to people in Belmont who are in need.
Residents are asked to leave a bag of non-perishable food next to their mailbox/slot on Friday evening/early Saturday morning and your Letter Carrier will pick up the bag when they deliver your mail on Saturday.
Our Letter Carriers, their family and friends give of their time to support our community and our heartfelt thanks, and appreciation goes out to them. The following is a suggested list of needed food items to donate:
Thin Pasta (Spaghetti, Linguini, Angel Hair); Tomato Paste; Canned Sweet Corn, Peas & Mushrooms; Canned Fruit; Toiletries; Juice Boxes; Canned Chili & Meals (with meat); White Rice; Dried Beans.
The Belmont Food Pantry is located at Belmont Town Hall, 455 Concord Ave and monetary donations can be mailed to Belmont Food Pantry, PO Box 291, Belmont MA.
