Hi there to everyone who may visit or stumble upon this Community Page

We would like to make it clear that the intention of this page is to create a community around the Logic and the Bible podcast.

For those that may not have heard the podcast on virtually any podcast player or outlet or on the Hello To Soul ministry website we highly recommend it. It’s amazing! But of course we are biased 😂

We would greatly appreciate that any comments left on the wall or responses to posts and prompts be relevant to either the podcast itself, and/or any of the variety of topics discussed within, or to the the post itself.

If you have a resource be it a personal/professional one like a book or product we certainly understand the desire to get the word out about it, but PLEASE bring it up organically in the conversation (keeping in mind the priority is relevance to the topic). If you would like to inform us of your resource and it is not immediately relevant and you still would like us to know about it and possibly help bring some awareness to it PLEASE start up a private conversation with us through Messenger and we would be happy to discuss it with you.

In short, PLEASE no unsolicited solicitation on the the wall or in the threads (again, we will point to relevance and an organic presentation as the criteria for such things). Should a post come up that is not relevant, nor organically presented (meaning you didn’t just bring it up out of the blue and it adds to the conversation) then the post will be removed.

Hello Logic and the Bible Community!

We know that it has been a long wait for all of you since the end of Logic and the Bible Season 1. Too long some may say. Well we here at The Podcast would certainly agree. Though a necessary sabbatical for Fr. Mike, for health reasons, he is excited to jump back behind the mic to bring you Season 2.

Just a fair warning there have been some program changes and things are still in development however we are EXCITED to announce that Logic and the Bible Season 2 will premiere this week on YouTube.

For those of you who have been listening to The Podcast on your favorite podcast players you will still be able to do so. We will continue uploading the audio for your continued listening pleasure with a slight delay.

GOD WITH US IN HEAVEN AND HELL: A PERSONAL REFLECTION ON PSALM 139:8

"If I were to ascend to heaven, you would be there. If I were to sprawl out in Sheol, there you would be." Psalm 139:8 NET

First off, credit to Father Mike () and his latest podcast on heaven and hell (Logic and the Bible - episode posted 14 April 2021) for providing me the impetus for these thoughts.

Today I felt, once again, the deep bitterness that I hold against the Evangelical church and its theology.

But today, for the first time, I could see the Evangelical church as doing the work of God in my life.

Wait! I'm still and I still disagree with Evangelical theology! 😅

After listening to the podcast ep though, I can think of my time in the Evangelical movement with more grace and tenderness.

It wasn't time wasted.

God was with me when I was in the Evangelical church, just as God was with me when I was an atheist.

God was and is with me *in* my , and God continues to be with me in my developing sense of myself as Christian and a follower of Christ.

This is an echo of the Psalmist who says that God is with him whether he ascends to heaven or makes his bed in Sheol.

The Hebrew conveys a sense of shock, I think, when after the word "Sheol" the Psalmist says BEHOLD!

BEHOLD! There too is the presence of God, whether in heaven or in hell.

Behold, there too in my life was the presence of God in the hell created for me by the Evangelical church.

Behold, there too in my life was the presence of God in the hell created for myself by myself with my long-held bitterness -- for in forgiveness, there too is and the experience of God.

But without the bitterness I could not do the work of being deeply forgiving.

Without the Evangelical church I could not be , and I would not be able to define myself as or .

I will continue to battle Evangelicalism, but today I finally feel that I can battle with love, with acceptance, and with gratefulness for the fact of the Evangelical church's existence.

God in heaven AND hell.
