Raízes Brazilian Radio was on KBCS 91.3 FM from October 1987 until July 2021 when station management moved to cancel the show. It aired Saturdays - from 2:00 - 4:00 pm (West Coast time PST/PDT)

His music made an impression on us. Not only was he a genius composer, but he was also a talented arranger, and he brought his unique bossa nova sound to the world.
RIP Maestro…Descanse em paz…💔

"Roots" in Portuguese, Raízes explores the music and culture of Brazil. Your hosts are Samia Panni and Sharon Stevens, who have a passion and deep love for the music and culture of Brasil.

Sadly, Samia Panni show creator and longtime host passed away December 2, 2018. She is remembered for her tireless dedication to the show and her lifetime commitment to disseminating Brazilian culture here in Seattle. We will leave this picture up in honor of her.
