I recently went through the heartbreak watching my VCR chew-up and destroy a tape of my wife's middle-school performance. The kids were annoyed because it was their one chance to see what mommy was like when she was their age. This was a wake-up call - the VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV, and 8mm formats are on the brink of extinction, and time is running out to future-proof my analog memories. I can help move

your VHS, MiniDV, Sony 8mm, and even audio tape recordings to DVD, your computer, or the cloud. This will allow you quick and easy access to your recordings, while giving you the opportunity to remove the boring/lame/sub-prime footage. Not only will your memories be preserved, but people will actually want to see them! Here are the three top reasons my customers pick me over Costco and online video transfer services
1. Many of the on-line transfer services have a wait time of 4 months or more. I can do the transfer in a week or less.
2. Most services provide output to DVD only, which requires further transcoding to get into an editable digital format. I convert to MP4, which is flexible, compact, and easy to edit. MP4s are perfect for storing on a thumb drive or the cloud, which I do as well.
3. Costco's promo pricing is $18/tape. Online services start at $15, but with $10 for shipping, end up costing closer to $25/tape. My pricing starts at $12, and drops to $10 for 10 tapes or more. I suggest starting with transferring one tape as a trial. If you like the results, I'll be happy to do the others and offer the volume discount for the other tapes. If you are not, you are only out $15 bucks.

Our Story

Lotus Media is founded on one simple principle: make things better.

A few years ago we wanted to show our children a video of their mom’s middle school performance. This proved a lot more complicated than anticipated. After finding a VCR on eBay we enjoyed about 5 mins of the show until the machine ate the tape.

There had to be a better way. After conducting extensive research we managed to finally convert the tape to a digital format.

After the project was finished, we asked a few of our friends if they wanted us to digitize their tapes. They did. And they loved it!
