How To Play One Two Many Rabbits!

We’re getting closer and closer to our Kickstarter launch. We’re making adjustments, getting new samples and prototypes from different factories, testing out different box sizes and continue to play test with friends to get their input to see if there are any holes we missed. So far, so good! We can’t wait to get this in YOUR hands so you can play!

So, Meta has just shut my accounts down from doing any FB or IG ads. No explanation. No reason given: it is their final decision. We’re making a card/dice game with a bunch of rabbits. That’s the extent of the controversy.

Oh, well. We’ll find another angle. Thanks for continuing to follow us. We’ll keep you posted—-somehow. 🐇😀

Even Easter Eggs get broken from time to time. Each on of our number cards is supposed to have each number represented in the artwork in a variety of ways. This little guy on the golf course is meant to have 9 stripes on his loud golf shirt…but he must have, uh, dropped one. Yeah, that’s it! Yeah!

But, that’s the good thing about creating prototypes and not rushing into production right away. There’s time to add a stripe and keep the Easter egg intact.

Sure, it’s just one stripe on a shirt and it doesn’t effect the play of the game, but fixing small mistakes is a part of the process and is always worth the effort in the end. And, sure, maybe he’s picked up his ball in the course of play—but I never said he was a great golfer. He is a rabbit, after all! 😀

When you draw this card in a game of One Two Many Rabbits, you gotta ask yourself “Do I feel lucky?” Well, do ya?

All players will place their “rab-bets” and bet one of the number cards in their hand to see which number comes up on the roll of two dice. Lucky winners get to toss their card into the rabbit hole. The unlucky—well, let’s talk about that later.

One Two Many Rabbits will be launching on Kickstarter in September and (with any luck) be magically appearing in retail and online game shops in 2023.

It started as a bit of fun. Some little puns for the game with all the buns—and then when we saw what fun people had trying to guess the names of the rabbits, we knew that they were getting a kick out of it just as much as we were.

The names aren’t on the cards anywhere. It doesn’t have anything to do with game play. Some of the kids who were play testing the games came up with even better names than we did—so, have at it! Name away! We’ll start with an easy one.

Something great about going on vacation and bringing along the prototype to play with our friends for the first time, adding the rainbow hologram cards to the deck for some more fun in the sun and play testing it yet again.

Super excited to get this up on Kickstarter starting in September. First, the email and marketing blitz to make some noise before the launch. Rabbits are pretty quiet, as a rule, so we’ll do what we can and try to make it fun!

How do you feel about solo rules? An alternate set of rules so that you can turn a game designed for 2 to 4 players into one you can play when no one else is around?

Solitaire is still as popular as ever. And some folks like being able to enjoy games they like even if they don’t have others around to play. We’re cracking that code this weekend with One Two Many Rabbits and will have a set of rules for those who might find themselves flying solo.

This character, of course, is Robun Hood from the story The Adventures Of Robun Hood and his Hairy Friends. And notice how his carrot and bow somewhat make out the number 4z I’m sure he posed that way on purpose.

The unboxing of the first game samples. Ordering samples from the factory and testing them out requires more than just opening the box and seeing them side-by-side. The game box is the first impression. The thing that entices people to pick it up and learn more. So many little things to consider, but so nice to be at this stage.

We’ve already decided to add some new elements, methods of play and have some design changes to work on. But this is the next stage in the game’s development. Glad to have you all along for the ride.

Designing the ONE. Since carrots make natural number 1’s, I knew how I wanted this card to look. A rabbit holding his carrot up in victory like Luke Skywalker or King Arthur.

1) initial sketch/design with some bites taken out of the carrot

2) another sketch to lock in the look of my rabbits

3) the final cart art for the game. Yes, went with the gladiator/Game Of Thrones motif so that he could have a house to fight for—or a vegetable, in his case. I’ve been calling him Bun-Hur. What would you call him?

When you have created and designed a card game around rabbits, they start to appear in the strangest places.

Designing card games isn’t as easy as it may appear. There is a LOT of work that goes into not only creating the concept and the rules of the game itself, but the artwork and the theme to wrap it all up in.

I thought it might be fun to share the process with all of you. Show you some of the doodles and sketches as the ideas were taking shape, concepts for card designs, the various shapes and sizes and looks of the rabbits, etc.

As former award-winning game designers, we hope that everyone will enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at the process that we take to create our games.

1) First rabbit sketch. Once we had chosen a theme, it was time to start seeing how good we were are drawing rabbits.

2) Different rabbit head looks

3) Since One Two Many Rabbits features number cards, one idea we had was to have the rabbits eating or destroying the numbers. As they can be a bit of a menace! In this shot, the rabbit is sword swallowing the number 1.

4) Maybe we’d turn the numbers into vegetables or things found in the garden. A number 1 is easy. The other numbers get a bit tricker.

5) another attack on the number 1.

6) the number 2 as a garden hose. Not a lot of vegetables that grow into that shape.

7) Instead of vegetable destruction, adding the same number of rabbits to correspond to each number card. Three rabbits watching a 3D movie? Maybe.
