Getting Better Vocal Takes
Some of my go-to techniques for getting better vocal takes.
Should you Tune the Scoops?
To my ear, scoops are an important part of
how the vocalist communicates intensity and passion. They’re worth paying attention to and tuning with just as much care and choice as the rest of the vocal. But scoops might not be worth take after take of recording. Asking the singer to take care to sing their scoops in tune may take their focus off of their most important job: singing their part with as much emotion and energy as possible.
Breaking Down the Singer’s Walls
