What a journey it has been past few weeks getting the Redfish pattern figured out here in NC. We found the schools closer to the coast last weekend, and today I found another one up in the river, from the shoreline ☺️ I’m not only extremely proud of us, but myself as an angler. Seeing the great progress I have made (having an awesome teacher like Justin helps also lol).
Can’t wait to see where this fishing life takes us in the future !

Doubled up on a school of Reds 🤙🏼 Hate the cold but it’s definitely my favorite time of year for huge schools in clear water. Scale down your gear this time of year. With that water being so clear, the Reds get spooked easier. We use about 5/6 ft top shot of 12lb fluorocarbon, straight line to line. As for artificial use, watch your surroundings for what is still in the area for bait. Most areas this time of year the bait moves out and the “finesse” baits are in. If you do not see chasing, work it along the bottom. Slow it down. Twitch, let it sit and twitch again.
