Yesterday, we filmed a new episode of Every Mind Matters with CALMnola at Capulet. The round table discussion, hosted by Serena Chaudhry and Ashley Weiss, focused on using education as a tool to build empathy and dispel myths about psychosis featuring mental health experts Claude Guillotte (MDIV), Gwendolyn Smith (LCSW), and Akanksha Thakur (MD).

When Clear Answers to Louisiana Mental Health (CALM) tapped Fireside to brainstorm how video could help amplify their message, we put our heads together and EMM emerged. Last year, Fireside Films had the opportunity to produce "The Snap," a commercial crafted in collaboration with our friends at Zone Marketing for our amazing client, GLO Resources!

The spot was filmed over two days throughout Louisiana. This was a fun project from concept to completion. The creative industry has been wrestling with how to ethically integrate AI into their processes, and for the last few years, Fireside has been experimenting with the same. For Glo, we leveraged AI as a look development tool, augmenting 3D renderings we designed in Blender as part of both our pitch and planning process. Look out for more on that in the days ahead on our blog.

Last year, we embarked on an amazing journey with our new friends Girls on the Run South Louisiana to share their mission to foster confidence and inner strength in the community. This year, we're excited to see who we will collaborate with next! Could it be you or someone you know?

So excited to share the fruits of this amazing labor of love from our collaboration with Girls on the Run! Earlier this year, they were selected as our first Project Ember partner, and we had the privilege of working with their team to share their story and mission to inspire and empower young girls to become tomorrow’s changemakers. A massive thank you to Carley Wahlborg Fuller , Laci Sherman, Cate Willis , a few truly spectacular coaches and some young leaders in the making for turning this project into such a wonderfully rewarding experience!

This week, we had the opportunity to learn so much we didn’t know about pianos working with Partners Marketing Agency and O'Neill's Music House to film the process of bringing a used piano up to par. The amount of work that goes into giving these brilliantly-complex devices a new life is astounding.

From the day we watched the pilot episode for The Mandalorian, our journey in virtual production has been quite the adventure. In the early days, it was just us playing around to see what was possible. But…cut to a year and half later, and our grand experiment turned into the first official shoot using Unreal Engine. Stay tuned next week to see the final result of our first virtual production project! Can’t wait to share what other virtual production projects are on the road ahead!

Some exciting news as the year comes to a close...Our team will be launching a pro bono initiative called "Project Ember" going into the new year, and the program is officially open for submissions. Below you can find more information about the program and what you'll need to apply. We're so excited to read all your submissions. From all of us here at Fireside, we hope you have an amazing rest of your week and year!

*Project Ember (Pssst...it's free!)*
Fireside's team of storytellers will produce and direct a 3-minute brand film for a company, organization or person pursuing a worthy mission. Filming will take place in January of 2023. The goal of this project is to use these little embers as beacons of light, love and hope to encourage positive change.

The official application process launches Monday, December 12, 2022 and will remain open until closing on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 11:59pm. After reviewing all the applicants, our team will select one, special brand to collaborate with. If we're fortunate enough to receive several amazing candidates, we may ask to chat with you and the client to learn more about the organization and its goals.
