Over the summer, we had the pleasure to film the Mayor's Youth Workforce Experience (MYWE). Here is what the program meant to the scholars in their own words.

MYWE is an 8-week internship and enrichment program that provides work experience and mentorship to youth in Baton Rouge during the summer. It is a partnership between the office of Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, Big Buddy Program, EmployBR, and Safe Hopeful Healthy Baton Rouge.

“The Dawson Legacy” is based on the inspiring true story of John S. Dawson, an African-American educator who changed the landscape of education of West Feliciana Parish in Louisiana, not just for Black students, but for all students.
All proceeds from the book will go toward converting the old John S. Dawson High School into a new community center for West Feliciana Parish!
