How blessed we all are to be stressed with the back to school hustle and bustle. The crazy schedules, packing the lunches, tuition, late nights and early morning. The messes to clean up, the multiples baths a day, the snack drawer a mess and half eaten. Days like today make me feel the absolute worst for ever thinking I’m tired or fatigued from having the absolute privilege to be a mother. So many prayers going up today 🤍

Loretta Lynn said it best “If you’re lookin at me, you’re lookin at country”. Iv seen a lot of articles suggesting that Beyoncé and Kate Middleton are all of the sudden going to change the western way of life by throwing a Stetson on their head. Although I agree that it is cool to see and I hope that it will turn a few heads our way I believe we are getting ahead of ourselves. Look at everything else they stand for? Certainly not much that promotes our way of life. #1 Idolizing anyone is a big “no no” in the book of life. #2 By acting like tossing on a cowboy hat is them somehow supporting our industry and throwing them party for it we are giving into the narrative that we haven’t always celebrated all walks of life in the western industry. I can think of 50 women in this industry I could celebrate before thinking someone like Beyoncé putting out a western album is here to promote us. I love fashion, western fashion, high fashion but that’s all this is to people like her. Yes she should be applauded for her work ethic and I could get behind that but please don’t let people think the western industry hasn’t always been available and open to everyone. If you haven’t been to a winter rodeo this year I can tell you they have been packed with people that know nothing of agriculture and they show up even in this economy. If you need some women to celebrate and see who has really paved the way I highly suggest a trip to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame (and take your daughters). 🤍Happy Friday -

I was having coffee with my health coach a while back and we were discussing life and it’s struggles. I told her “I know people with gorgeous homes and all the things money can buy but I also know they are absolutely miserable.” As much as I’d love to remodel my kitchen, or add on to our barn, drive a brand new car every year I can honestly say I am HAPPY. These people with everything are always filling in the cracks so no one can see. Id rather live a genuine life with all the cracks showing than be miserable for a single second. We may not have it all but we have each other and you can call that a clique all day but for me it’s reality. I’m not wasting any time wishing I had this or that but diligently working towards those goals with my family in mind. I have to remind myself of the above statement all the time and especially on days like today when my plans get wrecked and everyone is going a different direction. Here’s to the weekend!

The fact that there are grown men on my Facebook defending FWSSR because it’s such a great rodeo instead of using their voice to protect our children is INSANE to me. As ”rodeo babies” they get the opportunity to see so many places, meet people, experience things in life that some adults never even have the opportunity to do and yet we are now being expected to sweep this incident under the rug for the sake of a “big” rodeo? A rodeo that we have all always felt safe, comfortable, and welcomed. How dare ANYONE including Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo continue to claim that a child being taken right underneath their mothers nose in the contestant hospitality room with older children telling the woman who took the child to leave her alone is “blowing it out of proportion” ! I believe the post I read suggested that maybe we aren’t owed a great hospitality if we are going to smear them, well let me assure you that you won’t have to worry about any rodeo mother giving a s**t about your hospitality when we are treated like this. We love rodeo and we love that our husbands or even some women themselves get to participate in such a great event but no rodeo big or small is more important than the safety of our children. I PRAY the Teel’s fight until there is some sort of answer and footage shown of what exactly went down when their toddler was taken from that hospitality room. God bless those older girls that went straight to the Mother. It is ridiculous that anyone would question the severity of this or question the Mother. Child trafficking is real and it unfortunately happens everyday, sadly ALOT in our great state. FWSSR is one of my favorite rodeos of the year so I can assure you I am devastated that I am now being made to question their integrity. The mothers of the rodeo world want answers and we deserve them.

I think we will call 2023 a soft launch 🫠🙃 since sadly I had to prove to myself I am in-fact not super woman. Truly never even thought of this until Cade showed me this memory today and I looked at the date. Don’t wait until the next year, or day, or week. Seize the day! No, I had zero clue or expectation on this day 6 years ago that my life would change forever. An amazing partner, marriage, kids, animals, life. I do remember sitting in bed with my sister drinking champagne 🍾watching documentaries and eating junk food (which was the plan to ring in the new year) when Cade called and ask me to come to Waco to Circuit Finals to which I laughed and said “absolutely not” but my gut told me to go and I can not imagine where I would be if I hadn’t. Take the chance, even on the last day of the year. Here’s to 2024!

A while back I had Danielle from on the podcast and after a few weeks I decided I better put my money where my mouth is and give this a go…. I promise you I will never turn back
and today I got back into my pre- Craig pants! Just in time for this cold front next week… phewwww 😅 Although I know I am very blessed to have a healthy and able body I have mentally fought myself for years over this Mom bod and I finally decided after I had Craig in June that I HAD to mentally get past this obsession with how I look. Danielle Renee with Integrated Care : Nutrition/Health Coach has helped me SO MUCH! I would highly recommend! I know alot of people will roll their eyes at this post because no Iv never had a weight issue but this change has been so much more than physical for me. With three girls to keep up with and looking up to me I knew I could not continue letting them constantly see me pick myself apart.
P.S. These are not said pants. Still fully boycotting pants until next weeks weather appears.

I know I say this every time but Y’ALL, I had the best time with Carly Ray Elford and Jodi Clements. Going over the ALL NEW Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo ! New location, new arena, completely new set up but as always the same great hospitality, added money, and livestock. Stephenville’s Pro Rodeo is one of the last of the year and they take great pride in helping you end your season on a good note. So many great committees and events that happen during Rodeo Heritage Week that all goes back to the rodeo and the community! I personally don’t miss “The Show” which they have coined “The best Tuesday night in Texas” and let me tell you, it is! Here is a throw back to my mother and I as models 6 years ago!

Over the years I have always enjoyed reading Cade’s interviews. I think Iv only ever been in the truck for one of them so I am always eager to read them and although I am never surprised they confirm the one thing I never have to doubt and that is where his priorities are. I will always support Cade in whatever he thinks is right but I appreciate knowing our marriage and family has been number one since the beginning.

Here on the Red Wine Rodeo Wife I promised I would keep it real. Social media is a highlight reel of our lives and honestly why wouldn’t it be? Who wants to post about all the bad days? I had one of “those days” all week this week. I can’t even describe the scent that was coming off of me between sweat, spit up, p*e, poopy diapers, dirt, horses, and dogs. Cade made me mad before leaving for the weekend, I am days behind on work, kids are screaming and fighting 24/7, this pile of laundry is larrrrge, trying to get back on my gym schedule, and it’s summer so the Mom guilt is real. I cried for most of the day until I started laughing because I saw some Instagram reel that told me I was going to miss these days…. So no I won’t be posting a picture of me on “those days” because I am unrecognizable. The next days after those kind days are for the deeps talks with God and looking in the mirror to figure out where we are going and how we got here and that’s what Iv tried to do this weekend. The laundry waited and I took a shower. Saturday we celebrated new life and spent time with family and friends. Today I woke up to an iced coffee on my bed side table and had a worship session with my girls on the way to church. I have no doubt that one day I’ll have all the time in the world to get everything done and maybe it’s not this week, or month, or even this year but I know I have to count my blessings everyday and continue to strive to be the best at all of my jobs. All this to say, keep going!

I think its the life long question for people who choose to have a family… do we have our 20’s or do we have our 40’s ? Afted much deliberation I still dont have the answer but I do know that after choosing to be a parent im not willing to give up precious time with them because they are only this young once. I suppose it will be twice as fun to contine fun with them even with they have left our home.
