The Vintage Wine Bar in downtown Dallas, Ga will be kicking off 2025 with a January “Meet the Artist” opportunity on Friday 1/31, and Saturday 2/1, from 4pm to 7pm.
Dominique “Dodo” Chapinot, the January guest artist, is an artist-photographer who comes from a family of artists. She is an accomplished self-taught painter, enjoying oils, watercolors, pastels, pencils, and mixed media. Her paintings are moody and mysterious, emphasizing light over darkness. People and streets are her favorite themes, as well as landscape and still-life works of art. Dodo is an award-winning artist and has been a member of the Paulding Fine Arts Association for a number of years.

Paulding Fine Arts has been serving the community for 40-plus years, providing opportunities for artists and a scholarship for a Paulding County high school senior who desires a future in the Arts. We welcome new members and enjoy the opportunity to bring the arts to our community.

Join the fun at Vintage Wine Bar with some wine, a charcuterie board, and fine art with your friends. Enjoy a chat with the artist.

Sisters open Firehouse Subs in Seven Hills with February 8th celebration planned
Firehouse Subs recently opened its newest location in the Seven Hills area in the brand-new Town Creek Shopping Center at 10810 Dallas Acworth Highway. The store will have a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, February 8th from 2 pm to 5 pm. Guests will experience the welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and community focus that Firehouse Subs strives for. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a complimentary sampling menu, raffles, and more.
The new Seven Hills location is owned and operated by second-generation franchisees and sisters, Jenn and Aimee and is their their third Firehouse Subs restaurant. The siblings also own the locations in Hiram at 4795 Jimmy Lee Smith Pkwy and one on Thornton Road in Lithia Springs. The pair's parents previously owned the stores for ten years. Aimee has been involved with Firehouse Subs for around 10 years and Jenn for three years.
The third Firehouse Subs store continues the sisters' mission to build a culture that cares. As entrepreneurs, they are quite passionate about creating opportunities for their staff, delivering an exceptional dining experience for their customers, and making a positive impact in their community.
“As Firehouse Subs franchisees, we have seen firsthand that you reap what you sow,” said Jenn. “To us, franchising with Firehouse Subs means opportunity—the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our staff, our customers, and our community. Our dining room allows our guests to connect with each other over hearty and flavorful food, and we take pride in that.”
The sisters’ new location features Firehouse Subs’ signature menu, including the fan-favorite Hook & Ladder®, the Firehouse Meatball®, and a variety of fresh, made-to-order hot and cold subs.
Guests can also order from the FirehouseSubs.com website, from the Firehouse Subs App, or through Door Dash, Uber, or Grubhub.
“We’re excited for what is to come with this innovative brand and look forward to expanding so we can continue to touch the lives of those who live around us through our favorite thing: food,” Aimee added.
The new Dallas location also reflects the Firehouse Subs brand’s commitment to giving back. A portion of every purchase at Firehouse Subs helps support first responders and public safety organizations through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation®. Since its inception in 2005, the Foundation has granted more than $92 million to provide lifesaving equipment and resources to communities across the United States.
All three Firehouse Subs locations are open seven days a week. For more information about the new location or the grand opening event, please contact Firehouse Subs Seven Hills at 470.308.2336.

Pet of the week!
We want to get this sweet boy’s face out there.
Todd is a handsome hound mix! He is a medium-energy boy who has a big boy's bark. He would prefer a pet-free home to settle into but may be able to make friends once he is safe. He knows to sit and shake like a pro! Paulding County Animal Control

McKenna Farms is thrilled to announce our 2024 Volunteer of the Year is Beverly Foltz! Beverly has volunteered with McKenna Farms for more than five years. She cleans stalls, grooms, and leads horses for sessions. “I volunteer because it makes me feel good to be able to help care for the horses,” said Ms. Foltz. “I enjoy watching the changes take place in the horses from when they arrive and to see the faces of the children when they come to the barn and see the horse they are riding that day. McKenna Farms is my therapy!”
“Beverly is small, but mighty,” said Ms. Sparks. “She shows up every week ready to pitch in where needed and make a difference. She cheers on the horses, the children, other volunteers, and our whole staff. She makes our special place even brighter.”
We are so lucky to have Beverly as part of our team!
