INSERT COIN TO CONTINUE 🟡🕹️
I reset my account as a “Creator” account about a month ago and was immediately stricken with a sense of dread anytime I thought about starting to create and share content. I exported all of my existing photos, mostly pictures from immediately post-college through the growth of my beautiful family, and created @nickschiner to start hosting that content. But like 13-year-old Nick, fumbling through his pockets to find a coin for another round of the X-Men: The Arcade Game, I was stressed. Stressing about taking on something new, about how people would receive it, and about what the ultimate point of this undertaking might actually be.
This is me lining up my quarters to prep for the next “Continue” screen. And the next one. And the next one. This is me allowing Obi-Wan NICKobi, the even geekier, truer version of myself out to play. This is me sharing the things I love, mostly gaming and making, and talking incessantly about why and how they can have incredible benefits for learning and enacting positive change in the world. Many thanks to Beatwell with Jordan Goodman for constantly pushing me to share my perspective in the public sphere. That push was instrumental in finally leading to this point.
So allow myself to reintroduce myself. I’m Obi-Wan NICKobi and I can’t wait to share some incredible content with you. Sometimes it’s going to be messy, lack focus, and fall flat; but I’m a firm believer in learning out in the open. If you were following me before this switch and end up deciding to unfollow, I totally get that. But I hope you’ll stick around, enjoy what I’m sharing, and learn a few things along the way.
