This is just a little of the primary research my wife and I obtained at the National Archives last week! This is the beginning of a report that details the battles the 369th Infantry Regiment (Harlem Hellfighters) was involved in. More to come!

The Hellfighter: The Online Journal of African American Military History is looking for freelance writers to author an article on one of the following topics:

1. 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion
2. 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion
3. Salaria Kea (A nurse who volunteered to serve in both the Spanish Civil War and the Second World War.)
4. Joseph C. Jenkins (The first officially recognized commissioned officer in the U.S. Coast Guard.)
5. Benjamin O. Davis, Sr.
6. Benjamin O. Davis, Jr.
7. Frederick C. Branch (The first African American officer of the U.S. Marine Corps)
8. USS Mason (DE-529) (One of two U.S. Navy ships in the Second World War with an all-Black crew.)
9. Jesse L. Brown (He was the first African American to complete the United States Navy's basic flight training program. He was killed in action during the Korean War.)
10. The Red Ball Express
