UPDATE: Flood Advisory has been canceled

The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a Flood Advisory for parts of Kern, including the Kern Canyon, Highway 155, and Lake Isabella until 5:45 PM Thursday. Moderate to heavy rainfall will lead to the risk of flooding in low-lying areas. Remember to never drive through flood waters. Turn around, don't drown!

Rain has begun to fall here in Kern County and the Kern River Valley is expecting to see the largest storm this year later this afternoon. Though the smoke from the Borel Fire may be in the rear view, now the main concern is flooding.
