First post of 2024! 😱 As you’ve probably noticed, I took a social media break. I won’t bore you with my reasons, but it was much needed. I eased my way back and started resurfacing a few weeks ago on my personal pages and felt inspired to jump back on here and say 👋 from .

A Gift Beyond the Grave.

So, after 15 years of notable use, I finally started experiencing some tube noise in my trusty 251. I’ve used this mic on hundreds of records, thousands of singles, and probably a gazillion hours on that tube, it’s really no wonder!

After looking at replacements tubes that I would consider, I noticed the market is SUPER inflated ($$$) right now, I was kinda stressing.

But then the 💡 moment when I remembered that I had completely forgotten about a NOS tube in a drawer. It was a gift from the late .guitar.amps Chris Siegmund (RIP) that he gave to me during one of his trips to Bakersfield. I popped it in and GAWT DAYUM! This mic has never sounded better! The markings on the tube are mostly worn, so I suppose the mystery will remain tube ‘lore’. Thanks Chris 🙏

THROWBACK! 8 years ago today, Florida Georgia Line was here to record vocals for Garth Brooks’ 25th anniversary edition of “Friends In Low Places”! Ironically, I just heard it play a few moments ago at a backyard party I’m attending. 👍✌️👍

Shout-out to my man, Scott Rowson (). Scott has been a rock guitarist in Bakersfield for quite a while now. So, when he called me last year and explained he’d been writing country songs, I was both surprised and intrigued. Turns out he’s a great songwriter and I’m so proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone, not only stylistically, but also as a vocalist. Thanks for trusting me with the project. I, of course, wouldn’t have been able to do it without . Kyle and I have turned into quite the production machine over the past several years and have now cranked out countless singles and albums together. If you like country music, give this EP a spin!
