I can’t believe it has been a year since we sold our house. This home was our first home. It had so many memories in it but the memories we have made this year has been even more amazing. Taking this giant leap of faith was scary at first but has been the best thing we have done for our family.

Bentley wrote the President a few years ago about what is happening to the Polar Bears.

He watched a documentary and decided he wanted to write the President and tell him how much he cared about their survival. I am proud of Bentley taking a stand and trying to draw attention to something he cares for. And I’m also proud he decided to write this all on his own.

Has your child ever wrote the President?

👩🏼‍🚀 Armstrong Air & Space Museum
📍Wapakoneta, Ohio

❓Did you know this town in Ohio is the home to one of the most famous Astronaunts we know? That’s right, it’s home to Astronaut Neil Armstrong!
This Museum is dedicated to Neil Armstrong and has many things associated with Armstrong’s flight missions both on earth and in space. If you love all things space this is definitely a cool place to check out.

👀 Things to see here are the Apollo 11 moon rock, Neil Armstrongs flight suits and spacesuit, the Gemini VIII Spacecraft, A Meteorite and much more. The kids loved being able to try landing a spacecraft and the lunar lander and seeing all the space ships and the things astronauts have to eat and how they live in space.

This museum is rather small. It took our family only an hour to go through (not reading every detail). It was really informative and all of the kids found it fun and interesting. This was a great pit stop on the way to Indiana. Make sure to save this post so you can check it out.

💚 You probably didn’t know but today is . CP or Cerebral Palsy affects muscle movement, tone and coordination. Ryder was diagnosed late when he was about 4 years old after pleading with his doctors that things weren’t right. After an MRI we got the diagnosis of Mild Hemispastic Cerebral Palsy.

Ryder’s case is very mild one might not notice it. But his effects his right side of his body (mostly his right foot and right hand movements). He has very limited control or movements with his right side of his body. Which is probably partly why he’s a lefty.

Things like balance and running were difficult for Ryder but after years of Physical Therapy and leg braces he’s doing much better. He can run (without falling most of the time), ride a bike (that was a big deal) and is getting better at opening things with the help of his right hand (although he still needs help a lot). He still gets leg pains and can’t walk for long periods but he’s doing so well.

CP doesn’t define him but it is apart of his story. Although he may need more help as he gets older, right now he is happy and just doing everyday kid things. Hearing that diagnosis was hard to hear at first but We love our Ryder and wouldn’t change a thing about him. 💚💚

🎄Did you know you can visit the Christmas Story House?

📍Located in Cleveland Ohio, the Christmas story house has been converted Into a museum where they offer tours 7 days a week. They have a gift shop that has movie memorabilia and other goodies. You can also spend the night (minimum 2 night stays) in either the main house or the Bumpus house. It is pretty expensive depending on the time of year but I imagine for a movie lover like me they would love it.

Did you know you could visit this iconic home in real life??

❓Do you know what Boondocking means?

It means no sewer, water or electric hookups. So how do we spend nights without power, water or electricity?

—We use propane to run our oven, stovetop and furnace. So we can cook some meals inside without power and we can run the heat without hooking up a generator.

—We have a Jackery solar powered generator that can be charged and ready to go so that we can use fans, charge devices and run my husbands CPAP machine at night all on one charge.

— We also have a gas generator that we can utilize if it’s too hot so we can run our A/C. We can run anything that pulls too much juice for our solar generator.

—fresh water can be filled in our tanks prior to stopping but since we generally boondock for 1 night we just use jugs of water to be able to flush our toilet and wash our hands.

**Our battery also lets us use our USB ports and we can turn on the lights for a few nights.

Could you survive without power, water or sewer?

From the Pentagon to the twin towers. Being in these two places was so surreal. I remember coming in from zero period and walked into this unfolding on the tv in math class my sophomore year. We will never forget this day and the lives lost.

If you get the chance to visit one of the 9/11 memorials I deeply recommend it.

Happy birthday COOPER!!

He was 3 days late but when he decided he was ready to enter this world we barely made it to the hospital. Since then He’s been my wild child. He does what he wants without worrying about the consequences. He loves Minecraft, Luigi, his brothers, riding his bike, playing his switch and anything adventurous. He has the most contagious laugh and loves fiercely.

Happy 7th Birthday Cooper!! We love you ♥️🎉

🏞 Do you do the Junior Ranger Program?

Offered through the National Parks Service, kids can get a FREE educational packet from the visitor center of the park they are visiting. These packets are aimed for children 5-13 years old but anyone can do it. The packet asks questions about the park or historical site you are visiting. Some questions you may need to google but overall kids can do it on their own, with a parent or they can ask a Ranger for help. After completing the pages required for their age, kids will recite the Junior Ranger Pledge to a Ranger and get their badge.

The Junior Ranger packets are a great way to soak up the information about the National Park instead of just walking through it. We view it as an added tool to our homeschool curriculum.

❓Have your kids done the Junior Ranger Program❓

Spending time around a campfire is one of the best things to do outdoors. It’s a great way to spend time as a family, have a date night while the kiddos are inside watching a movie or even getting to meet new friends.

We have been on the road 6 months now and meeting other Fulltime Families like ours has been awesome. Being able to talk to other like minded people and talking about rv living has been a great thing to do around a campfire. It’s the perfect setting to make new friendships.

Do you like hanging out by the campfire?

📌 Plymouth Rock

We got the chance to visit Plymouth Massachusetts and see the Mayflower 2 and the Plymouth rock! Although we didn’t get the chance to go inside the mayflower it was just as cool to see it from the dock and then walk over to the Rock. I imagined the rock to be a lot bigger but of course I didn’t think about erosion but it’s still a giant boulder and just a cool place to visit. The town has cute little eateries and shops to check out as well.

On our way back to the RV we stopped at the National Monument to the Forefathers. At 81 feet tall and made of all granite this was massive standing next to it. It honors of the people of the Mayflower and has their names engraved on it. It also has scene depictions of our virtues: Faith, Law, Morality, Education and Liberty. It’s free to visit and open during the summer months.

📌 Salem Massachusetts

Home of the Salem Witch Trials, there so many things to check out while in Salem Massachusetts. We walked some of the Heritage Trail that goes through downtown Salem. It takes you to many historical sites. One of the stops was the Salem Witch Museum. The tour is a little expensive for what it was in my opinion but it was informative and interesting to see some of the artifact’s inside the museum. We also saw the Ropes Mansion, the Witch House, Salem Witch Trials Memorial, the Bewitched statue and saw the First Congregational Church in America!

You can also visit the ship Friendship and the Salem maritime National Historic site. It’s part of the NPS and is Free to check out. You can also stop by the visitor center for more information about Salem and don’t forget to get your NPS passport stamp.

📚 With traveling so much I almost forgot it’s back to school for most people. Officially it’s been 8 months of homeschooling for us. We do year round curriculum so we haven’t had a big chunk of a break like most people. Although we have had many weeks off from time to time. Our kids have learned so much in these last 8 months than most people learn in a lifetime. They are getting first hand experiences, getting to see our countries history and learning social skills they wouldn’t have learned in traditional school. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in traditional school but for our lifestyle this is working out so well and they are learning so much more than what’s in a book.

🎇 Anyways happy back to school!! 🎇
In honor of back to school photos here’s our take on back to school pictures In the campground 😜

✏️ Bentley is 12 and about to enter 6th Grade

✏️ Ryder is 9 and is in 4th grade

✏️ Cooper is almost 7 and is in 2nd grade work on acellus and learning how to read. In regular school he would be entering 1st grade.

📌 The Freedom Trail

All I can Say is Wow! Boston was amazing. It has a similar vibe as to New York City but it doesn’t feel as dirty or smell as bad 🤣 no street parking at all but we did find open air parking that we could fit our large truck. It was about a 15 minute walk to the middle of the Freedom Trail at the Old North Church. The Freedom Trail is about 2.5 miles long and is not a loop. It’s easy to walk but if you have little kids it may take all day to do.

At the Old North Church we got to check out a demonstration of the printing press and hear music played on glass. We then started our way north. We toured Paul Revere’s Home. Very cool to check out. It was so small and everything was crooked, the walls, doorways and ceilings. We stopped and gave our respects to the Halocaust Memorial, simply breathtaking. We toured Faneuil Hall where the kids did their Junior Ranger packet. And we ended at the site of the Boston Massacre.

The day we went there was a heat advisory so most things shut down for tours about 3pm. You may want to start early in the day so you have the best chances of seeing everything. There also is more to see in the North end but it was so hot we decided to end it early.

The South end of the trail is also something to check out if you are able to with Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution that is part of the NPS and you can visit it for FREE!

❓Have you been to Boston and walked the Feeedom Trail❓
