In 1976, when Komori was starting his VW business in earnest, he saw "ENGINE TYPE: FLAT4" written on the spec sheet at the end of the owner's manual that came with new Volkswagen cars, and decided to name the company "Flat-Four," referring to the "horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine" that was the symbol of air-cooled VWs.

THEY'RE BACK AND ON SALE NOW - ALL-NEW JACKMANS' famous ALUMISTAR / 3 Finishes / 5 STAR BIG VW 5-SPOKE 5x205 Pattern with popular 2 Inch Backspacing.

Designed for fun, on-road & off-road use where strength and safety are prime importance - all with Style.

With the side loading and general torture that goes with serious racing, Jackman’s are more than up to the job...as that was our testing-ground in the 1970's. In fact, we help lead the Steel Wheel SEMA Guidelines that are still in-place today.

JACKMAN VW 'Big-Pattern' ALUMISTARS are made up of 1/4" thick 5454 ALCOA Aluminum - stacked for a 1/2" Heavy Duty Center. This is approx. 1/3rd+ thicker than the original JACKMAN ALUMISTARS. In addition, this is the latest and strongest ALCOA 5454+ made - superior to the original thinner stock available in the 70-80s'.

ALCOA USA Sourced JACKMAN Grade-A Aluminum is used on high-strength applications, including heavy-duty aviation, automotive and vessel / marine applications, globally.
This Grade-A USA ALCOA Aluminum does not need 'baked' like much of the competition - Grade 5454 Heats and cures while being hand-made by Man & Machine only at JACKMAN...don't by cheaper brittle stock!
Original-Design JACKMAN 5 Spokes are 'fully welded', creating incredible strength and to fully encase the two pieces, eliminating any possible voids that could promote leaking.
Backspacing on all 15" x 4-6-8" at this point is 2 INCH - we plan to offer options as we move into 10"+ widths later.
Weights - 15" x 4" (approx. 20LBS) 15" x 6" (approx. 22LBS) 15" x 8" (approx. 24LBS).
*Price is for Wheel only, JACKMAN Hubcaps, Lug Nuts and Valve are not available yet. Shipping and Handling will be extra, for the lower 48 USA States we are estimating the cost to be on average $40.00+ per Wheel at Double Walled and Foam packed box.
