Did you know **Nancy Wilson** wasn’t just one of the first **female guitar heroes**—she also helped **redefine rock music** with her blend of **acoustic elegance and electric firepower**? As the **co-founder and lead guitarist** of **Heart**, she proved that women could **shred just as hard as the guys**, influencing generations of musicians along the way.

Nancy and her sister **Ann Wilson** took over the rock scene in the **1970s**, breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry. Their debut album, **“Dreamboat Annie” (1975)**, gave us legendary hits like **“Crazy On You”** and **“Magic Man.”** Fun fact: The **iconic acoustic intro to “Crazy On You”** was all Nancy—her intricate fingerpicking skills set the stage for the song’s explosive energy.

But did you know Nancy wasn’t just about blistering guitar solos? She was also a **masterful songwriter**. She co-wrote some of Heart’s biggest hits, including **“Barracuda”**, a song fueled by industry sexism when a record exec **spread false rumors** about her and Ann. That anger turned into one of the **fiercest rock anthems of all time**.

Even after the **'80s brought a more polished, pop-rock sound**, Nancy kept delivering. **“These Dreams”**, one of Heart’s biggest hits, was the **first song she ever sang lead on**, and it became a **No. 1 single**! Her ability to shift between **hard rock and emotional ballads** made her one of the most **versatile guitarists in rock history**.

Did you know Nancy also made a name for herself in **film scoring**? In the ‘90s, she worked with her then-husband, director **Cameron Crowe**, composing for films like **“Almost Famous”** and **“Jerry Maguire”**. Her work added a whole new dimension to **cinematic storytelling through music**.

Even after **decades in the industry**, Nancy is still rocking. In **2021**, she released her first-ever **solo album, “You and Me”**, proving that her creative fire **burns as strong as ever**.

Nancy Wilson didn’t just break barriers—she **obliterated them**. Whether it’s her **guitar skills, songwriting, or fearless attitude**, her influence on **rock music is undeniable**. 🎸🔥

I have looked at the stats of many bands recently and noticed most of you have plays on spotify but not much is happening on the other streaming sites. I am going to start focusing on other sites for playlists for awhile.
I am starting with Deezer. If you have song that has been released in 2024 or 2025, drop the Deezer link below. Please also add the genre, as I might create a few different playlists depending on the response to this.

Posting this on behalf of Harmless Dosage Records:

If anyone has wondered what happened to the HDR page, it has been "suspended" without any apparent possibility of appeal, since meta does not know the difference between supporting indie bands and running a "phishing" scam. Ridiculous. Not sure what we'll do going forward, but for now the playlists are all still there on spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/314xd5bpn4tij53qitkcqqib4s64?si=1cfcdb7826a1495a and we have updated our "Featured" list with great new tracks from Penny Fountain (entering this list for the first time) and Michael Botte Band. You can give fb the finger and support great indie music by listening and sharing here https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5bKpBPVikm4rUXrv9vqAzV?si=k9TKyK6FRROxbdkw-a5OqA

“Daph Veil’s *I Don't Need You (Someday)* blends a funky beat with soulful, emotive vocals, delivering a powerful anthem of independence. The groove is infectious, and the melody sticks with you. With its smooth production and heartfelt lyrics, this track is a confident declaration of moving on.” Paula Laubach
