Mopac Media

Mopac Media Mopac Media is now a religious organization comprising a middle-aged woman with a large dog and some grip equipment, patiently redirecting calls to Gov.

Abbott from elderly constituents dialing the wrong number. Mopac Media provides free production consultations as "equipment quotes" which are then relayed to guys who beat that price, and the receivers are made happy. Praise science, praise art, and as is said here: "There is no such thing as nothing, except it's useful in maths."

DRONE OPERATOR NEEDED FOR PUP RESCUE:

A Dallas DP working over the weekend here, near-actually, the Austin Animal Center-called a few minutes ago to find a drone operator to help him try to locate his pup, last seen wearing a purple t-shirt.

I’ll text him yr # if you’re up for helping an overdressed canine get some water and make it back home.

Y’all stay shaded and hydrated if possible. Happy Monday from Moopac.

Some circa 2009ish lessons seem relevant for now--as the economy goes wonky, security around gear needs to get stepped up a bit. Hide cases, lock up, be aware. And you know, live long and prosper. May the force be with you. Eat your veggies. Call your mom.

...For shame, for shame, the strength of centralization hasn’t been used to create a unified containment, prolonging quarantine. With brains too small into which to fit science, centralized authority continues to disrupt integral supply chain flow, increasing the need for localized resources. (Trump's interfered now with the already long-besieged, though formerly fantastic and profitable USPS.) So...post for the things you need. Check out Craigslist Free. Invent! Build! Revert to the trade style used prior to currency. I wouldn’t say “no” for instance, to trading some gear for a goat, or for use of your truck for a day...

OR--still operating within the economic structures of our time? Is time in big supply, but your budget squeezed? Ask for "PANDEMIC PRICING". Use that tone, too. Come at me with all caps! I’m over here picking up calls for the governor cauz my number is only one digit off from the number to His Excellency, The Wheeled Menace. I’d like to hear for a change, film artists engage that urgency with me on the phone.

If you're not subscribed to email updates from Austin Film Commission, you might be interested in subscribing now. Updates from Brian Gannon are timely, and cover what currently must be accommodated in order that productions go forward.

That said...clients pick up and return outdoors here without more than text interaction. When--rarely--there's a need to go through a demo or settings, both parties distance and mask. Typically, I'll text a photo of kit contents to check before you take off.

Be well, and have a nice weekend, y'all.

Scroll up, scroll up! It's the time of the year the favorite festivals roll...all at once...well, they do, okay? I....personally, this actual person typing the post...have never made it to Fantastic Fest, so I'm not commenting on it, and Austin Film Festival is a film festival too, and pretty sizeable, whoa, these days-so, just sayin' these festivals...they're lovely and manageable for even the mildly sometimes-agoraphobic and easy, not that they aren't great; they are great! I'll post them but first apropos o nothin

"Scroll buttons never looked so good..."

Here's most of the scroll button songs! I can't find some of the earlier ones, but I got the good ones. I IN NO WAY OWN ANY PART OF THESE...SCROLL BUTTON SON...

Hey, SELLING a DJI Ronin w/an extra battery and thumb controller. Below EBay and Adorama listing--$450. Case still rolls fine, rented eh, about 6 times...

Arri Kit...it's negotiable--price and fixtures selection--make an offer, but say, for now, a couple of 300 watt Fresnels and an open face 650 watt. (These days there are adapters selling to allow switching from tungsten lamps to LEDS, so you *could* invest in the *flexibility* of hot lights for the chilly months, and cool lights for the frying months of the year.) The kit would include barn doors, stands, scrims, gel roll, spare lamps, gloves, C47's and original case. We have also, an extra Lowel kit to sell--Lowels don't look as swanky as Arris, you know, but the truly swanky secret to Lowel lights is that they are easy to diagnose and repair compared to the disassembly-doo of any Arri fixture.

Also, we have a couple of Matthews C-Stands @ $70 each, bearing miscellaneous-brand,yet entirely functional boom arms returned thus by miscellaneous renters over the years.

Sale also on American brand sandbags: black, great condition, @ $20 each.

If you've got a tripod that uses a less-usual plate, bring the thing over and see if any of our miscellaneous odd plates fits your plateless head.

Interested in purchasing any other gear? Check in on the mood to liquidate whatever strikes yer fancy. Why? The owner would like to fly to Kansas City for lunch and a walk about. Maybe Minneapolis. People are just so darned nice there. Have you been? It's almost like getting a Canadian accent without crossing the border.

Text or call (512) 462-2000 with any questions, no-- *any* questions. But if it's advice on personal matters, you'll need to Venmo me $5.

OK, have a nice day, y'all.

Told with unapologetic humor, BECOMING LESLIE is a portrait that follows the life of a vagabond who became a cultural icon. Known only as “Leslie,” he shined a satirical light on police accountability and was a liberating shape-shifting mirror for many — a personification of pure self-expressi...

haven't updated rates on the website in a long time, so November has kinda been $35 month. Try us, who knows? Maybe you think it's $61.97, but it's really $35. Money-schmoney. Some people have it and oughta spend a lot more of it. Some don't and they probably should revert to foraging for nuts and berries and lying in hammocks. It doesn't matter. your documentary probably matters, possibly your short is better than any documentary, but then, a "passion" project is about you, so sometimes you're merely annoying. sometimes you're utterly on top of all of it. you get to decide which, subjectively, but you can't decide who will agree or disagree. Also, buy your own gear and share it with friends. Make gear for yourself, look on youtube, innovate. Anyway, feel free to negotiate. I don't care. Drive carefully. It's Austin; the infrastructure is plepfh.
