Meet Simon Gonzalez!!!

What do you love about Lake Travis?

The lake life is a great life! Boating, paddling, kayaking, swimming and most important the waves. You know you live near the water because everyone waves, we are all friends.

What specific organizations have you supported that have made an impact?

I was brought up to be of service to my community and continue that tradition through my kids, friends and family. For me volunteering and making it fun is important for everyone. I have been volunteering in my neighborhood for a long time from Halloween loop, breakfast with Santa, Easter egg hunt and any other good times I can help with I do.

What goals do you have for 2024?

2024 is the year of the Dragon and I happen to also be a Dragon and my goals this year are to continue to give back to my neighbors, community and inspire others to do the same. Being of service wherever I am needed.

What brings you the most joy?

My family, friends and clients bring me a lot of joy. I really appreciate the social aspects of exploring life. Great moments and memories made by taking on the adventure of life with paddling on the water, sitting on a patio or eating something amazing, that moment is perfection!

Meet Sarah Carpenter!

What do you love about Lake Travis?

I love living in Lake Travis. The best part about living here is the community. Of course we love hiking in the hill country and swimming in the lake, but the absolute best thing is the people I encounter everyday. I have lived in Lake Travis for 6 years.

What specific organizations have you supported that have made an impact?

I have supported lots of youth programs, most of the local elementary schools, the Cavalettes and Red Rubies, LTYA baseball, LTYA volleyball and I have also supported the Austin Smiles program to help children with cleft lip/palate receive treatment.

What goals do you have for 2024?

My goals for 2024 are to continue to motivate and inspire the children in this area to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I also plan on becoming more involved with the Austin Smiles program to team up with the oral surgeons to provide quality care for children with cleft lip/palate.

What brings you the most joy?

The thing that brings the most joy to my life are my three children. If I could do one thing for them that brings me joy is traveling with them and showing them new experiences.

MEET Nolaska Tardencilla Souliotis

I met Nolaska on the phone during the interview for this Lake Travis Empowered Women magazine feature. Her story resonated so much with be with being an immigrant like myself. We connected right away and since then, we have gotten to know each other well. She is also an amazing foot Doctor with Elite Foot and Ankle.

What do you love about Lake Travis?

I love the sense of community. I feel that people who live in Lake Travis are very proud to live here and that creates a sense of belonging even when you weren’t born here. I have lived in Lake Travis area for 9 years now. We bought our first home in Sweetwater and had our three kids here. It was the best decision we have made! My kids have gone to Lakeway Church Christian Preschool and now at Rough Hollow Elementary.

What specific organizations have you supported that have made an impact?

I have supported Lake Travis Education Foundation and our local schools through my practice Elite Foot and Ankle. I believe that education is so important for our community. Our kids need the best education because they will continue to carry the values that we all are trying to show at home. It’s not just the parents, it really does take a village. We have to highlight the importance of our teachers and coaches! They ARE important and we have to support them.

What goals do you have for 2024?

I want to continue our educational sponsorships. I feel that this past year I have learned so much about business and feel that having business mentors is essential. I would like to create a local group of women business owners that can mentor each other. I’ve met some very experienced and inspiring women business owners that could guide young entrepreneurs. We can all learn a lot from each other!

What brings you the most joy?

My family is my joy. I’m married with 3 young kids. Although it can get very chaotic with them at home, they do make me so happy. It’s so much fun to watch them grow and grow into their own. I am always inspired to be the best role model I can be for my children.

MEET KARA KING!!!

I met Kara King through the Bee Cave Chamber of Commerce in my role as Board of Director. Kara is Mayor of the City of Bee Cave and I have had the opportunity to get to know her better at all the Chamber ribbon cuttings for local area Lake Travis businesses. She is very committed to helping the Bee Cave and local area businesses be successful and you can always see her at the Bee Cave Chamber of Commerce luncheons or other events supporting the community. I especially love her dog Ellie.

I am honored to feature Kara King in this inaugural issue of the Empowered Women Lake Travis magazine.

Here is more about Kara King!

What do you love about Lake Travis?

The essence of a place is not just made up of one thing but the way all it's elements synergistically work together. This community is made up of wonderful, helpful, people along with businesses who are invested in the community, staff of both the city of Bee Cave and Lakeway, who pour their heart and soul into their jobs, the gorgeous hill country landscape and the many volunteers who work to make this community amazing. All these ingredients work together, but I would say the one with the most impact is the way our residents support one another.

What specific organizations have you supported that have made an impact?

As Mayor, I spend every day serving the residents of Bee Cave and it's greater area. I work with the leadership of Lakeway and Lake Travis ISD to serve all residents of the Lake Travis area. The relationships I foster are beneficial to all our residents in times of emergency and in day to day operations. I look forward to continuing to serve our community. I founded and run the Mayor's Bee Cave Business Round Table that meets once a quarter, in support of our businesses.

What goals do you have for 2024?

My goal for 2024 is to continue to keep and improve the quality of life for our residents. I am very excited for our traffic improvement we are making, the amenities we are bringing to Bee Cave Central Park, the new library we are building that will increase their services and activities and to continue to support all residents.

What brings you the most joy?

Travel all the time! I love learning about different cultures, foods, traditions and experiencing our beautiful planet.

MEET CARY CUPIT!!!!

I met Cary in person at the Wags Thrift Store near Hudson Bend in 2023. I already knew of her from all her volunteer work giving back to the Armadillo RV community in Hudson Bend. Cary has such a giving heart ❤️ and I am honored to feature her in this first issue of Lake Travis Empowered Women.

Here is more about Cary Cupit.

What do you love about Lake Travis?

I love the natural beauty of the Hill Country and Lake Travis. I grew up in Possum Kingdom Lake, so I have always loved the water and I have been an avid sailor all my life.I have lived in Lake Travis since 1994. I have been sailing on Lake Travis since 1983 and have met so many long time waterbug friends. I ran the Lake Travis Cruising Association for 20 years. I also love kayaking in my cove at Hurst Harbor and watching the incredible sunsets each evening!“I want to continue to help everyone that I can, especially all the children and find more people that want to help me and find more kids that we need to help!”

What specific organizations have you supported that have made an impact?

I have volunteered for 8 years with The Ladies of Charity, Lake Travis Thrift Shop and then this last year I became the CFO of Kerby's Clothing Ministry (KCM). After volunteering for 2 years, I was connected to William Kerby. The next 6 years I volunteered and was able to get in-kind donations for KCM! My growing bookkeeping business didn't allow me to go to volunteer at the store anymore, so I became the KCM CFO! I filed with the Ladies of Charity Benevolence Committee at the Lake Travis Thrift Shop and got KCM able to receive quarterly monetary donations on top of the in-kind donations.

What goals do you have for 2024?

I aim to persist in aiding anyone within my capacity, with a special focus on assisting children but I have always helped anyone in need! I am a connector! When I have someone that has something to give then I find the right person in need and CONNECT! That is my favorite talent!

What brings you the most joy?

I LOVE TO VOLUNTEER!!!

Meet Amber Hart!

When I bought my property in Hudson Bend on Lake Travis in March of 2017, I have seen Amber Hart's name around town and in many magazine including a great magazine I used to work with call Waterways. Amber Hart is a realtor with https://amberharthomes.com/

I met her in person last year at a local gala in Lakeway. I came up and introduced myself and she was no nice and as beautiful in person as in print.

As I got to know Amber better through her various philanthropy projects including her A Kind Hart Foundation, and for the feature in this first issue of the Empowered Women Lake Travis Magazine, I understand her heart for giving back to make the Lake Travis community a positive and better place. She also gives so much of herself through her platform The Hart of Lake Travis which features local Lake Travis area businesses.

I loved getting to know Amber Hart better and you will love her too as you get to know her.

Here is more about Amber Hart and her WHY!

What specific organizations have you supported that have made an impact?

My commitment to Lake Travis goes beyond real estate. I've witnessed the growth, embraced the sense of camaraderie, and felt the pulse of the supportive community. That's why I founded A Kind Hart Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at providing relief for families and Lake Travis students in need. Through this foundation, I've been able to contribute to the well-being of the community by supporting local nonprofits and initiatives. It's my way of giving back to the place that has given me so much.

In addition to A Kind Hart Foundation, I recently launched The Hart of Lake Travis. This platform allows me to showcase the incredible people, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that contribute to making Lake Travis the exceptional community it is. It's about celebrating the heartbeat of this place, the people, and the stories that make Lake Travis truly special.

Beyond my personal initiatives, I've been actively involved in various community organizations, including serving on the Community Advisory Board for LRMC and as the past President of the Lakeway Police Foundation. Volunteering with organizations like Keller Williams Cares, TexARTS, Dell Children’s Hospital Circle of Friends, Lake Travis ISD, The Rotary Club, Lakeway Police Foundation, and the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society has allowed me to contribute to causes close to my heart.

Being a part of Lake Travis isn't just about living here; it's about investing in the community, building connections, and working together to create a place we can all be proud to call home.
