STREAMING SWEDISH PIRATE RADIO IGLOO ON MIXCLOUD SUNDAY, JANUARY 12 AT 1800 UTC

Propagation to many parts of the world was terrible for TRSW’s January 5th broadcast on 9670 kHz. We want listeners to have a chance to hear what they missed: an hour of music and talk from Radio Igloo.

We’re streaming the show at 1800 UTC on Sunday, January 12. We’ll run our interval signal from 1758 so listeners can set up their equipment to listen or record the program.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE: JANUARY-MARCH

We're pleased to release our schedule for the first three months of 2025. It's similar to 2024's, with monthly broadcasts on Channel 292 in Rohrbach, Germany.

The biggest change is retiming our Mixcloud stream to 1800 UTC to make it more accessible.

We're excited to partner with Swedish pirate station Radio Igloo for our January show.

We decided to issue a more colorful verification than planned for the January 4 and 5 broadcasts. In addition, Radio Igloo will provide a separate verification directly. Our email is [email protected], and Radio Igloo's is [email protected].

THANK YOU

Thanks to everyone who listened to our Christmas Day show over Channel 292 in Germany and Encompass in Wooferton, UK. We hope you had a joyous Christmas.

We apologize to those who listened to the 11900 kHz broadcast. The show audio began late, thanks to a technician error at Woofferton. As one listener wrote, "Crash start of programming at 03:00:50.” Propagation wasn't the best, with uneven coverage in the central US but generally good SINPO/SIO ratings on both coasts.

As always, our coverage of Europe over Channel 292 was very good.

We're working through a stack of reception reports and will send out QSLs as quickly as we can.

Our January-March 2025 schedule will be posted within a week.

Note that the list includes both "seasonal" and "non-seasonal" programming. This edition contains a substantial number of additions over the previous edition and is worth downloading even if you have downloaded an earlier version.

In the event that further information becomes available, I will continue to issue updates and post to the above permanent links. Small changes will be issued as incremental versions, which will not be announced in social media posts. Significant changes and additions will be issued as new versions and will be announced. It will be worth checking the above links from time to time for the latest information.

Here's our schedule of programs for December.

The BIG NEWS? In addition to Christmas shows over Channel 292, we've added a 250 kW broadcast on Christmas Day (UTC) for North American listeners. Please mark your calendar right now so you'll remember to tune in.

We'll publish a picture of our special Christmas QSL a week before Christmas. We guarantee it'll be worth collecting.

TRSW Anniversary Show

We'll rebroadcast our first program from November 28, 2019, next week. That show was aired by North American pirate radio station Radio GaGa.

Here's the broadcast schedule and our Fifth-Anniversary verification card (QSL). To receive a QSL, you must send us a correct, detailed reception report covering at least 20 minutes of the show. Our email is [email protected].

In two weeks, on November 28, we will broadcast our 5th-anniversary program on Channel 292. It will be a rebroadcast of our inaugural program on North American pirate station Radio GaGa.

We'll have a special QSL for correct, detailed reception reports and post a copy of the design as the date approaches.

International musical group Khruangbin was our featured artist this month. However, the announcement that they had been nominated for Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards was too late for mention in the program.

The nomination is a surprise since this "New Artist" has existed since 2010!!

Regardless, we hope you enjoyed an hour of the group's music last weekend.

Houston-based psych rock trio Khruangbin's upcoming fourth album, 'A La Sala,' is a return to the band's jammy, spaced-out beginnings. Ahead of the record's April 5 release, dip your toe into their discography with these five great tracks.

Here's our regular November QSL.

If you didn't send us a detailed reception report, you missed out on the verification featuring a Western Cottonmouth water moccasin. This semi-aquatic snake, usually found near rivers, lakes, and swamps, can hold its breath underwater for up to an hour to hunt prey.

When disturbed, it opens its mouth wide, showing the white interior, thus the name cottonmouth.
