UPDATE: Four people are dead and nine others were injured in a shooting at Apalachee High School on Wednesday morning, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). The agency said the suspect is in custody and alive, and that reports that the suspect had been “neutralized” are inaccurate. The GBI said those injured were taken to various hospitals. The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said earlier that a suspect was in custody after “multiple casualties” were reported in a shooting at the school. Tap the link in our bio for all the updates.

An Illinois school district teacher sentenced 9 years in prison for stealing $1.5 million worth of chicken wings. 68-year-old Vera Liddell pulled off the chicken wing heist from July 2020 to February 2022.

Liddell ordered wings from a school district food provider, billed the district, and kept the wings. She ordered over 11,000 cases of wings.

The heist took place during the pandemic when schools were closed, but some students would receive meal kits sent to their homes. The scheme was revealed when someone at the district found the invoices, including wings with bones, which are typically not served to students.

BREAKING NEWS (as of 12:01pm 9/4/24): A large number of law enforcement officers have responded to Apalachee High School in Barrow County after reports of gunfire.

Dozens of officers can be seen on the ground, alongside a medical helicopter and ambulances. At least one person was loaded into the helicopter on a stretcher.

The exact circumstances of the incident are currently unknown.

Reports of 4 dead in Georgia high school shooting, 1 person in custody….. At least four people were killed in a shooting at a Georgia high school on Wednesday, CNN reported.
In addition to the four killed, dozens of people were injured in the shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, CNN said, citing unnamed law enforcement officers briefed on the incident. Not all injuries appeared to be gunshot wounds, but rather also people hurt while fleeing.One suspect was in custody, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
“What we see behind us is an evil thing today,” Sheriff Jud Smith said during a brief news conference on school grounds.
Smith would not confirm that people were killed, saying only there were “multiple injuries” in the shooting.
The incident appeared to be under control and students were being released at midday, a Barrow County Schools spokesperson said. ABC News quoted a witness, student Sergio Caldera, as saying he was in chemistry class when he heard gunshots. Caldera, 17, told ABC his teacher opened the door and another teacher ran in to tell her to shut the door “because there’s an active shooter.”
As students and teachers huddled in the room, someone pounded on his classroom door and shouted several times for it to be opened. When the knocking stopped, Caldera heard more gunshots and screams. He said his class later evacuated to the school’s football field. Live aerial TV images showed several ambulances outside of the high school.
CNN said it witnessed a patient being loaded into a medical helicopter that had landed at the school.
The sheriff’s office said, “multiple law enforcement agencies and Fire/EMS personnel were dispatched to the high school in reference to a reported active shooting.”
The FBI field office in Atlanta dispatched agents to the high school to support local law enforcement, said Jenna Sellitto, a spokeswoman for the office.

Blueface and Chrisean Rock have been going through turbulent times in their lives. Both are currently behind bars in separate states for different crimes. The latter is in Oklahoma on a fugitive warrant and could face up to eight years in prison. For the former, he’s going to be locked up for four years thanks to him going against the terms of his probation. Because of their legal troubles, they are unfortunately missing out on a personal milestone. However, Blueface’s dad is stepping up, at least he thinks.According to The Shade Room and posts from Johnathan Porter Sr.’s Instagram, he’s celebrating the rappers’ son. Chrisean Jr., turning one. The reason we say he feels that he’s helping is because others do not, including Karlissa Saffold and many others. She and almost the entire internet feels he’s only appearing to show love to Chrisean Jr. for clout. If you remember, there was video evidence of Johnathan Porter Sr. deflecting any sort of responsibility to help to take care of the baby boy. After tons of arguing between Saffold and Blueface’s dad, Chrisean’s close friend currently is caring for the child.It’s why all of these posts, such as showing off all the gifts from family and friends on social media, feels inauthentic. However, Mr. Porter didn’t stop there. He also shared a montage of several loved ones sending birthday wishes to Chrisean Jr, as well as where he says he “got a chance to speak with jr.”. He also added that Blueface and Chrisean were going to “be very surprised with his progression that he has made”. People online were quick to troll Mr. Porter, saying things like, “That baby aint spoke to you bout nothing”. “HOW HE TOLD YOU THAT SIR 😂”. Overall, he made a great effort, but it seems like no one’s going to buy any sort of support he tries to show from now on.

STORY via FOX5ATLANTA: Officials have made numerous arrests and have taken out warrants for even more people involved in what the Fulton Sheriff’s Office says is a contraband and fraud investigation. According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation culminated in an early morning operation on Friday. Deputies say it involved two ongoing and related criminal investigations that have each revealed over $1 million in illicit transactions. The investigation, which began in June 2024 with the arrest of Markeisha Clark on identity theft charges, expanded to include current Fulton County Jail residents, as well as their family members and associates outside of the facility. The contraband involved includes drugs, cell phones, and other electronic devices, which were allegedly used to facilitate criminal activities within the jail.
Among those arrested on Friday were:

* Anita Baker, 57 (1st)
* Devin Brown, 18 (2nd)
* Markeisha Clark, 25
* Kimberly Floyd, 43
* Contrell Simpson, 41 (5th)
* Brianna Smith, 27 (6th)

In addition, two women were arrested and released on bond in late June and early July in connection to this investigation:
* Aubree Cuna, 26 (3rd)
* Janiha Pazhedath, 24 (4th)

Two months after rapper Enchanting’s devastating passing at age 26, her official cause of death has been revealed.
The hip-hop artist died of toxic effects of oxycodone and benzodiazepines, a spokesperson for the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office told People. Her death was deemed accidental. She was previously reported to have died in the hospital after being taken off life support.
Enchanting — born Channing Nicole Larry — signed to Gucci Mane’s New 1017 Records in 2020 before departing the record label last year.Luv Scarred/No Luv (Deluxe) was her last album on 1017, which arrived in November 2022 and featured several collaborations with Gucci Mane such as “Big Chant,” “Large Amounts,” “Issa Photoshoot” and “No Love” alongside the late Big Scarr and Key G***k. Gucci confirmed the tragic news of her death via an Instagram tribute. “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant ,” he captioned a photo of the young talent rocking a pair of 1017 chains.

Two workers are under arrest, accused of endangering lives inside the Fulton County Jail. Authorities have charged a sergeant and a former nurse with bringing contraband into the facility.
According to warrants, Lorna Heath, a detention sergeant, was on shift when she was arrested. Juanita Calloway, a former nurse terminated for having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate, was also arrested.
“A year ago, there was information that she did have an inappropriate relationship with one of the residents here, and so she was no longer allowed in the facility,” said Natalie Ammons, director of communications for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities also identified Reginald Arnold as an inmate involved in the case. The warrant reveals that a contraband phone found with Arnold had texts mentioning Heath’s involvement.
“Former Nurse Calloway stated that she knows that Sergeant Heath moves contraband throughout the Fulton County jail and has been doing it a long time,” the warrant reads. Surveillance footage captured Heath leaving her post and retrieving a phone charger from Arnold’s cell.
Another document details Calloway’s purchase and delivery of ma*****na, ci******es, and cell phones to an unknown third party, who then delivered the items to Arnold.
This marks the third story involving the jail contraband trade in just over a week. All three cases were made by the Jail Investigations Unit of the Sheriff’s Office.
“I think we should be very proud of our sheriff,” Willis said.

A contracted security company that works at the Fulton County Jail has terminated its security services at the Fulton County Jail over non-payment.
According to a news release from Strategic Security Corp., “despite multiple efforts to resolve the situation, including numerous emails, phone calls, meetings, and notices to various offices including the Sheriff’s Office, the Mayor of Atlanta’s Office, the County Commissioners Office, and even the Governor’s Office, no viable solution has been proposed by the responsible parties. Regrettably, no timeline for payment or good faith attempt to address the outstanding balance has been Because of the non-payment, contracted security guards were told to leave the Fulton County Jail.
“This action is taken with a heavy heart, as it creates a potential officer safety issue and crisis at the facility,” the company said in its news release. “The continued non-payment has left us with no choice but to take this difficult step to protect the interests of our company and our employees.”
During a news conference Thursday night, Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat said across the board, the security guards were owed nearly $1 million. Labat said all the guards impacted have been offered positions within the jail as county employees and they will receive a 10% increase in pay. Just before midnight, Fulton County confirmed the exact amount owed is $1,076,464.67 to Strategic Security Corp.
The county stated in a press release that the contractors received a message, instructing them to “abandon their posts.”
